"The Port is the major employment site in Dover and must continue to prosper."
Bringing this comment to the fore, by Dover District Council. Bedfellows aren't they just.
The Port is not employing local labour anymore. Have all these talks and protests, hopes etc, that the Port could be part of the Dover District Community missed Whitfield,
Are they all asleep

at the end of the day the lorry park will be of benefit to all in dover town, especially aycliffe, snargate and townwall streets.
even the air quality would be improved so in my view this development is to be applauded.

Still have to get those that park in the surrounding area for free to part with their money and use the Truckstop.

Well Keith, that's why I voted UKIP in 2005. But he was campaigning as prospective parliamentary candidate not as Leader of the council.

Howard, I have a little 'inside track' advantage here and I would advise everyone not to hold their breath. Any announcement this week is likely to come from Dr Bob not the DfT.

The second reading will now be on the 1st March 2013.

whilst the procrastination goes on and the protagonists shadow box the town is ever more being starved of investment.
should the cable car ever happen they could use it to take us all to the workhouse.

Does this mean there will be a local referendum on the DHB privatisation plan?

Not the current scheme, Alex, because it is being considered under current legislation and Charlie's Bill has yet to be debated.
