Howard Claire was there at the back, she left just before the end, Roger it wasn't a political issue or even meant to be, when Mrs Vass first arranged for a petition outside the Malvern, Charlie Elphink had been asked to help keep the route open, but it was not in his remit was the reply, so all local councillors were asked to attend, you unfortunately were away, but when you got back you was committed as was all the others as you see by the meeting

Thank You Sheila, shame the paper implied otherwise.

That explains why I didn't see her then Sheila, disappointed that Charlie showed no interest as his presence at the meeting would have put more pressure on Stagecoach and KCC to find a solution.

Is the idea with belgrave road not good enough? the road is better with the turning point in westbury cresscent :) All it needs is better marking and a couple of yellow lines ;)

Belgrave road is perfect with the turning point as you have described Heike. There is a pinch point sometimes with the play school but a toot of the horn usually means that someone comes out looking guilty and moves their jam jar.

true hence why they all can park up the cars in westbury rd if need be. But I do would suggest some yellow lines on the kerbs etc even with some time restriction like from 8am to 8pm or else. As of lately even on our end some people park arkwardly ...

The next Public meeting 23rd April at Clarendon and Westbury Hall 7pm, the trial runs for the 68 bus start to take place next, results will be known for meeting, we must keep the pressure up so please come and support us, just in case it is not what we want to hear, fingers crossed that it will be good news.
At the last meeting some people could not hear all that was being said, it is arranged this time to set up a PA System so all will hear what is going on

I have written to KCC and Stagecoach to request that the 56 days notice is cancelled, so hopefully, the trial up Belgrave Road, if successful, means that the route can be confirmed and kept to; routes and timetables need to be established and published.

Thanks Howard.
The only problem with re-routing a bus-service is that there will always be winners and losers, just hope that this will result in more winners.

The vast majority will be winners Roger, the only people who will lose out are the ones that live at the Malvern Rd end of Clarendon Place but even then the walk home is on the flat.

No official announcement has been made but the test drive went perfectly yesterday and it seems certain that the bus will be rerouted up Belgrave Rd then reverse into Clarendon place then back down again. Double yellow lines will be marked out in Clarendon place at the junction with Belgrave Rd.

Reports so far that the trial was undertaken and it looks good, the turning point will be in Westbury Crescent with double yellow lines opposite the garages, the next meeting is the 23rd April when the findings will be discussed, we still have to fight on, its not over yet, we must wait for the dotting of the i's and the crossing of the t's before we can celebrate

just thought I would bring this to the for-front again, Public meeting tonight at the Clarendon and Westbury Hall 7ppm regarding the 68 bus, we need your support we have not won yet still a way to go, don't trust Stagecoach, we must show them we will not give in

Well good news, we have a reprieve, the 68 bus service will still run for a set period, then trials begin for new route, still a lot of work to do, we must not take of the pressure, all our councillors are working to keep this happening, it just shows what a bit of people power can do, united we stand divided we fall as the saying goes

Yes, indeed Sheila - a pretty well-attended meeting and I thought some good co-operation from KCC/Stagecoach.

Malvern road is where the culprits are today, I don't know if Clarendon Place was clear as the bus couldn't get that far. After a very difficult reverse back down the hill the driver used Clarendon Street stopping on the way to advise some police officers sitting in a van of the parking situation in Malvern Rd. Doubt any action will be taken though.

I can understand this young woman's frustration as I can see it from my front window. The main problem is not cars but company vans that are simply too large for a narrow residential road.

My road had a very rare visit from a parking warden a few moments ago. From what I could ascertain a four wheel drive jalopy was being booked but the driver left before the ticket could be issued.
