17:4974084the problem is getting worse locally, yet again our local bus had to divert beacuse of this problem. today it was malvern road the other day the problem was in maxton.
the police were notified of the offending vehicle around 11 a.m today the situation unchanged at 5 p.m.
the seriousness of this problem cannot be underestimated, what happens when a fire engine or ambulance needs urgent access?
companies with larger vehicle like jewsons and argos are affected too.

17:5574088HOWARD;
It's once again the age old problem.
If a car parks partly on the pavement, then pedestrians complain because cars shouldn't be on pavement,
The cars by parking partly on pavement allow freerer movement for services such as the bus.
If cars all parked on the road, then bus just would not get through.
On top of this more and more busness's allow employee's to brng vans home, and theres nothing to stop them.
The PCSO did all he could at 11am and later as I saw him.
it realy comes down to local residents

21:2274144no keith it comes down to the police!!
local residents should not be allowed to run rougshod over the the laws of the land, my information is that ryan(our local p.c.s.o.) twice rang his betters to alert them of the problem, no response.

I thnk you miss the point, this particular incident fair enough, but the clarendon's were not built for all those cars.
That said, as I said if the cars park all on the road, then it would not be possible for the bus to get through.
It's one of those situations car or bus, or pedestrian. one that will go on and on.

the law of the land states clearly that her majesty's highways must be clear enough that the horseless carriage must have a clear run through.
the indolence of our police in this matter is inexcusable.

Oh dear boyo, I'm not sure If i'm getting my point across or not.
If the police were to enforce as you say(and im not defending them)
then by making all cars park on the road, the bus servce via Maxton would be unable to get through, so it would bring that service to an end, and as you know make many people young and old house bound.

here's one from yesterday, the white jam jar pulled into a space reserved for taxis. the cab tooted and a chap got out of the passenger side appeared to smile at the taxi driver before slowly making his way to the atm.
traffic coming out of pencester road and worthington street came to a complete halt.

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen this kind of inconsiderate parking. It's truly exasperating
Perhaps, with the use of CCTV fines should be sent out by post to the offending individuals. I'm guessing that they would then think twice about doing it again.

CCTV do not cover this kind of activity; it would be classed a moving traffic offence and is not the remit of the CCTV people - mad isn't it ?
They could see all those cars and cyclists going up Cannon Steeet and Biggin Street and get their details and issue fines - but they won't. Mad eh ?

the traffic warden was round early this morning on her regular sunday visit, booked 3 as far as i can see. 2 were on double yellows but not causing problems as such but the one pictured looked as if it had been parked when drunk.

As is regular, a car was parked on Crabble Hill near the traffic lights, half on the path this morning, hazard lights on.
When I returned about an hour later it had a ticket on it!

same two cars every day park legally at the junction of belgrave road and folkestone road meaning that anyone wider than popeye's girl friend has to take a chance on walking out in the road at a busy junction.

They could at least fold their wing mirrors in.
I tend to 'accidentally' bump into them when cars park this like.

considered that myself but the people who get in and out of the 2 cars do not look like they would be messed with.

A few years ago, my brother-in-law who is built like Pluto lifted the front of a small hatchback and managed to 'bump' it off the pavement!

They are inconsiderate a few fines in order
but the en forcers have the old problem of illegal parking throughout the ward
but to park in a legal way would stop the bus running

it is the responsibility of car owners to park legally and in a way that doesn't endanger others.

Howard
We will probably never agree here.
As your aware at this time we still have a bus running around the ward(or part of)
It's likely to deter the bus companies should cars be made to nit park part on the pavement.
The clarendon's was not built for the amount of traffic it gets today,
