There was a lot of arm waving at a parking warden on Sunday morning over this jam jar, I just assumed that the chap was unhappy with being ticketed. Checked earlier with the DVLA and it is just another dumped one so the arm waving would have been for something else.

Inconsiderate parking?
Mark Twain would probably view it like the weather 'everybody talks about it but no-body does anything about it'.
Perhaps someone is doing something about it?
Expect some sort of an announcement next week.

The Peugeor had it's rear window smashed in last week and was fixed by the next day so someone cares about it. Earlier a parking warden was walking around and looking at his hand held device for inspiration.

Dover MP calls for traffic wardens to deal with lorries because police aren't
**PRESS RELEASE**
Dover and Deal MP Charlie Elphicke is calling for traffic wardens to start fining lorry drivers for brazenly blocking roads.
Under current law, only the police can deal with vehicles parked dangerously or right in front of homes and businesses.
But officers busy dealing with serious crime treat reports of obstructive parking as low priority and fail to deal with them.
Shocking statistics show the number of fines has dropped by 97 per cent in the last 15 years, from more than a million across the UK in 2001 to just 42,800 last year.
It means in places like Poulton Close in Dover, lorry drivers block residential roads for several days at a time.
They often leave litter lying around – and some residents come home to find they can not even get to their driveway.
Yet only a fraction of offences are ever dealt with, official crime figures show.
Charlie said: “Rather than targeting people who have just nipped into the shops – surely traffic wardens would be much better off ridding our roads of poorly parked lorries, many of which are from overseas.
“It’s common sense that traffic wardens should be doing this, while the police get on with making our streets safer by hunting down violent criminals.
“In Dover and Deal, residents and business owners are fed up with lorry drivers brazenly blocking driveways and littering.
“Yet the police are hardly dealing with parking issues at all any more.
“It’s time for traffic wardens to step up and rid our roads of these lorries.”
Charlie has contacted the Home Office and the Department for Transport about amending legislation.
The Road Traffic Act 1991 permits local authorities to enforce yellow lines, time-limited waiting and other parking restrictions and keep proceeds from fines.
But powers to deal with dangerous or obstructive parking remain with police.

Yesterday we had a car parked in Belgrave Road at the junction of Folkestone Road, the problem was that it was parked well away from the kerb meaning that the bus couldn't get through as no doubt delivery vehicles and vans couldn't either. The car was not parked illegally as far as I know so nothing that any parking attendants could do about it but it caused 5 hours of disruption.

Not sure on the exact figure but you do have a limit on how far from a kerb you are allowed to park, but you can also be ticketed for obstructing a highway wether there are parking restrictions or not.

But NOT by the wardens for obstruction. See #270 above.

Had a chat with on of the wardens/attendants earlier and he is aware of the status of this car but has to keep ticketing it until it is clamped.

'Austerity England' and we have not all got enough room to park our shiny shiny cars. Something must be done!

Sunday morning seems to the best time to be ticketed, a few of the regulars got booked earlier plus a Czech registered Peugot with a refuse bag acting as a passenger side window in Underdown Road.

Never come round my way though. Parking on corners seems to be the done thing.
