And have you seen the Facebook post of her standing on a pile of mud in the building site at the B&Q roundabout? I'm tempted to report her post to the H&S executive, no high viz, no safety boots and no hard hat.....but then if it's a cardboard cut out there isn't any problem

I think she should go before they put her out because if she stays at her job the blues will not get back in in Dover

Update- Engagement Period has been extended until February 10. Residents can make additional comments even if they have already submitted previously. This has not been as a result of any influence of our MP!

Gnat writes: "I have been pleased to have secured an extension to the length of the consultation period into February 2021, as a result of my representations to the Minister on behalf of residents."

In a way, I'm sorry to make these comments but I do feel the point should be made. In my view, this is merely a sop to local opinion. We're dealing with a government that was quite prepared to fabricate a case to the queen in order to prevent a 2nd referendum that looked like it might well reverse the 2016 decision. Do people really think they will reverse this part of their Brexit plan just because of a little local resistance?
In order to be part of the current Tory party, you must accede to the Brexit cause. It is the sacred cow and no politician, even at the lowest level, will further their career unless they are prepared to genuflect before it.

In 2019, Dover handled 23.4 million tonnes of freight, compared with Felixstowe's 25.3 million tonnes. Here's a scene from FXT:
Given that:
a) the border processes for both sets of freight will soon be essentially the same, and
b) the change in emphasis from 'process it inland' (Chas) to 'process it nearby' (Gnat)
I suppose it's a good job that our ferries only carry around 180 lorries apiece.

It’s difficult to engage with the process when there is a lot of information that has not been forthcoming from the DfT despite the claims of wishing to be open and transparent. However much people oppose this development it will only be through a robust legal challenge that it will be halted. Guston PC and various parties are requesting a range of documentation to show that the requirements of the SDO are being fully addressed - these need to be disclosed before the SDO can be approved.

Arthur I sympathise with you .We have all around where I live just received another form to complete.I was telling a friend and he advises me it’s progress .Its the same when I talk about the fast bus track .I think it will mean less local buses say for River and Town Services. He reckons they are empty anyway I said wait until you can’t drive.I think most people don’t worry as long as they are Ok . I recall when the new trains were introduced .I had to with other Councillors go on a trial run.I pretended I had a walking stick.or a push chair .You have to imagine what it is like for some one else .That is why I support your efforts.I like the picture on the Parish Council web site .

Thank you for your support Sue. Guston PC is exploring every avenue possible to fight this with a legal challenge- suspect the latest information had a lot to do with the complaint Guston has made about the use of the Dover Fastrack road. That ‘consultation’ was a joke however we haven’t let it pass us by and will be making further comments before it goes back to the planning committee. Unfortunately you are correct, after things have changed it will be too late to say - “ but we didn’t want this”.
The draft local plan mentions the “importance that the long term aspirations of upgrades to the A2 within the district are realised. This includes duelling sections of the A2 north of Dover along Jubilee Way to Whitfield and near Lydden, upgrades to the Duke of York and Whitfield roundabouts “
The current road infrastructure cannot cope with large volumes of HGVs as well as local traffic. A traffic management plan is not going to solve this issue in the short term.

My son is completing the form .He will be using very wise words .i wish more people could see the facility is in the wrong place .The infrastructure is not in place .I think people will moan when the roads get blocked. My Son very wise words said they built the A20 to cope with the lorries .DDC have built shops and leisure centre at Whitfield .A retired Councillor but I always gave my views very strongly at times .?

Vast amounts of money have been spent improving Townwall Street onwards to enable the smooth movement of traffic onto the M20 away from the port. On crossing the QE11 bridge port traffic is directed down the M20 because the A2 isn’t suitable. Suddenly this doesn’t seem to matter. How will Whitfield roundabout cope with the increased traffic from proposed new housing developments plus freight traffic without the improvements as described in the local plan? Does no one think these things through or am I missing something? Ah yes.......party politics!!
Interesting article in The Telegraph today - Hampshire County Council refused planning permission for a five acre waste plant to be developed beside a stud farm as the horses needed “peace and tranquillity “. Clearly we hold the lives of horses as more important than people- that certainly appears to be the case in Dover. The lives disrupted in St Martin’s Road clearly aren’t that important in the grand scheme for Dover!

I've been walking up the Roman Road recently, through where this Freight Facility is supposed to be built and it looks lovely again, with nothing happening.
I know it was delayed until next year, but it's nice to think there is a reprieve for a few more months.
I don't know if the rumour I heard is true, but it appears that they are looking at it again because they didn't know the area wasn't totally flat!
It may be just a rumour, but knowing how farcical these things turn out, it could just be true

Many of the plastic fences around the site have been trodden flat.
