This is surreal - Keith congratulating Reg for being elected unopposed to a vacancy caused by Reg being disbarred for not attending the legally required minimum of meetings.

Keith, I knew about the election I know I can be thick at times but I am not that much of an idiot, the election has been mentioned enough in this thread. I was talking about all the posts from Howard's post #73 until mine at #98 which to those outside the political circle are pure gobble-de-gook.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Keith, the vast majority won't vote, as they are used to gobble de gook coming from councils
See turnout....

Interesting load of twaddle from Jim Hood in the Express today saying the election at St Radigunds could have been delayed until the county elections in May to save money - as far as I know that would only be an option if there was a scheduled town council election for all seats at that time and the vacancy occured less than 6 months before.
I'm sure there's enough experienced councillors on here to correct me if I'm wrong.

the town and county elections have a different timescale so i do not see any cost saving by holding the town one in may.

because there is a county election then there would have been very little cost in May,just for the Town Council will now take 2 polling stations to be booked the staff and then the staff for the count I believe the cost to the Town Council would be £7000.If the election would have been in May although there would have been a small cost all the polling stations would have been paid for by KCC.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Two experienced (ex)councillors who should know better, repeating the guff that Jim Hood put out. They know, or ought to know, that once an election is called it has to be held to a timetable and can't be delayed for convenience or money saving reasons.
And Keith should recall that saying that a week is a long time in politics, never mind three years!
Are they worried the applecart might get upset!?
