things are getting very personal in folkestone west as we can see, hopefully that will not extend into delicate dover. hearing rumours that the blues are planning a smear campaign against a rival candidate - time will tell if that is true.

I am not invited to write election leaflets/literature, so have no input, apart from when I am standing.
I don't like negative campaigning, I don't like lies in leaflets either and I've seen more than enough, even since just 2003 - and mostly in Labour leaflets, but some Conservative leaflets have had some exaggerations.
I even tried to find out if it is legal for these lies to be printed, but it seems, at election times, anything goes; I just hope the electorate are not too gullible and don't get taken in.

Same here Brian well nine times out of ten. I would never rely on any so called information in election leaflets it is all pure spin.

Another reason why there is no need to read them.

i can never work out why they tell so many porkies on the leaflets.
the only people that bother to read them are those that follow local issues/politics so those people will see through them.
the actual turn out for county elections is poor because few people now what functions are carried out by the county and even fewer know who their councillors are.

Since Central Government will not allow Councils to have any increased say in how administration is carried out locally (Localism Bill ha ha ha

), and will not allow local budgets to increase, but on the contrary is intent on reducing them by about 40% over a 4 year period starting as of 2010, these County elections shall be boycotted by me.
To take part in them and vote, would be surrendering to Osborne and his Austerity, and giving him a vote of confidence.
Pah!

I thought you said you wouldn't vote anyway Alexander because God wasn't on the voting paper and you would only recognise Him.
Will you be voting in the District elections the same day, for this (M E P) ward ?

It is difficult to see what is at the bottom of all this, "I feels my intelligence is lacking". What we need is somebody in the know to fill us in.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

We will see if the conservatives decide not on politics, and what they are to do should they hold the seat,
but instead make personal attacks on one or both labour candidates
that these leaflets are condemned by roger and other tories on here

They have used the most awful photo of Mr. McMullen; never noticed those marks on his face before.

Roger, my post 252 is to be considered as it is written, within the stated context.
The economy is being run by a few politicians in Parliament, more precisely in the Cabinet.
These have not brought about any Localism, contrary to their manifested Government policy in May 2010, but have gone about drying out the treasuries of local Administration.
My guess is that the majority of the masses will not vote, because we have inept people making cynical and catastrophic decisions in the Cabinet, while local Government can't do anything about it.
It's a way of telling them we have no trust in them.
Had the Government respected their declared Localism policies, and allowed people to take part in Community decisions at District and County level, it could have been different. They failed us! They blocked everything, and they act as if they alone run the Country, regardless of their pre-election campaign promises.
