I think lesley all cllrs are in the front line and posters shouldbe able to be critical of them.
Shadowing is maybe a way to give an insight.
Like any job there are good and bad cllrs, those that work those that turn up at meetings, those that are never seen in the ward from one year to the next.

Well put Keith.
For me it is just that there are too many of them which is proved by those that sit on their backsides and do nothing except glorify in the title.

Thankyou, having done the job for 25 years I got to know those cllrs happy to do next to nowt,
and those that worked hard.
Of course often this didnt reflect in the local council elections.
Getting back to Eastleigh its going to beinteresting to see the end result,

Regarding the Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory ward, is this the same Peter Wallace who works for DDC? Oh well, at least there's two blue candidates

.

that's the answer terry, not sure if it is possible for a ddc employee to stand in an election.

I read that and can only assume Labour have a candidate whose name is Peter Wallace, won't be the same Peter Wallace as is in the Planning department.
Deborah lives in the ward and will be a good Councillor.

I'd never heard of him Keith and so didn't know where he lives.
There's not been a Labour Councillor who lives in the ward since you retired.

Perhaps I should have put retired from being a councillor.
It's always been a marginal seat Keith, leaning more towards Labour than Conservative.
