i don't know what has shocked me the most, benches designed so that people don't sit on them or finding out that philip is a guardian reader.

I wonder what the elected councillors think about the benches not being replaced or is it the Town Clerk who now makes all the decisions, she seems to have an awful lot of power.

I think it is terribly disrespectful not to acknowledge my calls.DDC try to work with DTC and this is what we receive, pure rudeness. The seats need to be located outside of DTC offices so people can rest when walking back from the doctors or shops in the Charlton Centre.Perhaps one day our Town Clerk will suffer with aches and pains.DDC have paid for the repairs.

Keep up the battle Sue, to not put back the seats is a crass decision, there must be someone in charge of this woman who can point out that she does not actually own the town!

It does seem quite disgraceful that with the benches and land being owned by DDC, that The Town Clerk can stop them.
I'm also surprised that the Town Councillors allow their decision-making to be usurped by the Town Clerk - or have they given her that power and agree that the benches should not be put back where they came from ?
If it's because of the alkies monopolising the benches, that is a matter for the Police, not the Town Clerk.

should have a siege of the dtc offices, making sure that the woman is in residence and not letting her out until she puts the benches back herself.

The trouble is, it's another story making a joke of Dover.
The wave seats and the benches, are bringing Dover and the Town Council, into disrepute. Don't the Councillors realise this ?

More to the point Roger is do the Town Council even care that we are being ridiculed.
Who is actually making some of these important decisions, is the the Councillors or is it the Town Clerk.

they do seem determined to make dover a laughing stock, 2 bench stories, the war memorial names, white cilffs of sussex, lord boyce, the seafront toilets etc.
does anyone actually think before making these decisions?

We seem to have a Town Council that is making Dover a laughing stock.
