Mr Bibby
I think we have a problem, where the abusers of the system are costing us dosh.
whilst they may be a minority, we need to close the loop holes.
All the time we have people happy to take the dole rather than work is an issue
I cannot afford to sit in the pub day and night 7 days a week, yet i see every day others that do

Quote.....``.I too have been guilty of being immature in my comments prior to Christmas but over Christmas and over this
weekend, the comments are increasingly becoming offensive..I suggest it must change..I am at the age when I reflect on more
things in my life and I value my time more and I do not intend to give my time to the negative ``
Is there a hint of resignation . ?

# 278......``Farage's main weakness is that his charisma has attracted an eclectic mix of extremist oddballs and fruitcakes to
the party, with whom he seems unable or unwilling to be ruthless.``...have to agree.....including closets.....

all parties have their fair share of fruit cakes, usually just harmless people that shouldn't be let out on their own.
i was at a public meeting back in the early eighties when a local blue councillor shouted out "everyone talks about the 3 million unemployed but no-one talks about the 75 million working".

Looking forward to may , when we can send lots of Eurosceptic MEPs to Brussels to help destroy it from within.
Happy days

.........Funded mainly by contributions from the recipients when they were gainfully employed. This money, like now, was not invested but used in the pot along with the other taxes and NI contributions, thus the payouts now become a contentious issue for the ill informed.
Those of us who made additional arrangements by contributing to Company pension schemes are now paying income tax, in our retirement, to fund the benefits for others.
What point were you making KB?

i was told when i first started work that all the "stoppages" were an investment for my future i.e. health care and pension in later years after i was less able to contribute.
later i found out that not to be the case and that all dosh collected was being paid out to to pensioners at the time, unfortunately we all live longer so the burden on young working people today is so much heavier.
i believe kb is correct in his percentage statement.

So where do those of us pensioners who are still paying tax fit in.......... give us a benefit in the form of a pension while taking some funds back by way of tax.
