It has to be said that they enter into the true spirit of Christmas.

The reality is not much better. Here's an actual photograph of North Deal Labour Councillors.
The queue for the Soup Kitchen in Dover looks better turned out!

Whilst Dover celebrates the impending opening of Nando's, Deal has a drive through KFC to look forward to.

Never a dull moment in Deal, I think it all went to their heads when they won the "High St of the year competition".

Jealousy. Jealousy. Just because Deal is a traditional seaside destination, unlike Dover, a stretch of shingle overlooking the docks.
Deal is a bit like Brighton, still with the simple pleasures which we all enjoyed in our youth. A day on the beach listening to Radio Caroline or stations even further afield if the conditions were right!
You don't have to look too far on the beach even nowadays and you can still see someone playing with the knob on their 'trannie' wondering what they might pick up.

A seat with a view, or a view on a seat!
We’re testing new benches as part of our £500,000 revamp of Deal Pier. We’d like to know what you think!
The benches are made from iroko, a hard wood which is perfect for coastal environments. It’s the same wood as the café on the end of the pier and will eventually weather to the same colour. The tender will specify that the wood must be Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. There are two designs, straight and curved edge. Why not give them a try and let us know what you think. You can comment on this Facebook post, or speak to our pier attendants who are keeping a record of preferences.
We’re looking to tender the works in the next few weeks. The new benches will be installed following the resurfacing works which will start in March.

"Where is the best place for lunch?
At the end of the modest pier, which has no amusement arcades – take note, Brighton – the clean and comfortable Jasins (01304 366820; jasinsrestaurant.com) offers all-day breakfasts and mixes British and Mediterranean fare; liver and bacon and, alternatively, Turkish salads, which are delicious."
Has he ever been?

That reads like one of those advertising articles where the business pays for the write-up, a practice that should be stopped as they are misleading.
