The fountain will look splendid for the ten minutes during which it is reopened, the water sparkling and spurting and glinting against the windows of Cats In Crisis, before some destructive tw*t b*llockses it up again with Happy Shopper washing-up liquid nicked from the Baltic Boutique (or whatever it's called this week).

one of our members john (the plumber) sheridan was working on it a few weeks ago penny, work came to a halt because of electrical problems.
the blokes in the fountain and the two in the bottom photo were clearly having problems earlier judging by the dialogue they were having over distance.

total embarrassment, 2 more cruise ships in and the passengers have to admire the fencing around the fountain. wouldn't be sp bad if people were working on it.
this poor bloke had to climb on a bench to take a photo of the castle.

Put back the pillory in the market square! Might attract more visitors than the fountain!

In the old days when the stocks where in the market ,they nailed one mans ears to the stocks and gave him a knife
Today the H S E would probably insist he did an N V Q first

Disappointing to see those pictures Howard with the tourists milling around the building works.
With thousands and thousands coming ashore from the liners, and we have had some of the best collection of liners ever, I sometimes feel its the town letting the Port down rather than the (much opined) other way round.
The Port is delivering the tourists. Do something with it.
Tourism is a huge resource and could be a huge resource for us here in Dover.

Yes paul your right very sad
We need to bring in professional from Amsterdam and Vegas and come up with a different plan before the same old suspects go and get it all wrong again
With 15 million people a year passing by we need a night time economy, with out all the hand ringing

yep its a shame really, what with the fountain not working and weeds in the horse trough and planters.now let me think when was easter, aah yes early aprill, when was the first cruise ship again early aprill.the question is why wasn't the fountain up and running and the planters and horse trough planted out in march.and don't tell me it was due to the wheather or down to cash being strapped.
