12:0941348Immigration without a green card sounds fine, but if they are given out like sweets. as has been the case under Labour, then what is the difference? I would have preferred UKIP to say, a total freeze on immigration for three years, excluding exceptional circumstances, while the siutation is evaluated.
This to be allied to a policy of forcing companies to lower their demands for employee qualifications for vacant roles. There is a huge chunk of workforce sitting at home and excluded from working due to the demands of UK industry now wanting BSc's/MBA's even for the most junior of jobs. A programme of promoting the value of an experienced or learning workforce would help change the dynamic and get people back to work/into work, thereby increasing tax revenues, reducing demand on state benefits and help promote a feel good factor again.
£25 a week increase for pensioners. Great idea and long overdue, but how will it be funded?
Locally run schools/Hospitals/Police Force? No thanks. With no disrespect whatsoever, there is hardly a person living in Dover capable of running any of those, either singly or as a group. Again with no disrespect, I wouldn't be happy with local politicians running those things for Dover either. Why? Well, just look around you and tell me Dover is being well run. Has it ever been? Hmm. That's my point.
No mention of how UKIP plan to deal with the complete financial mess Labour will leave the country in then Vic, or is that to follow?

20:5741391Thank you for calling Mr Watkins,I have just been talking about that on the phone, first I have know for some time that they might stand, but untill it is in black and white did not say nothing.
I must say I think it will help us,it will hit the main partys more the reds the most, but we have still one more party who I know and I have been told they also are puting up a candidate who both of us know he was a cllr some time ago.I would tell you but because it was not told by him I can not say who and what party it is.All I can say that they have a webb site and have only been going about two years and their headoffice is in London,I was asked at one time to stand for them in the locals but I said no.I am again looking forward to the campaign, and I mean this I am sorry you will not be standing as the blues candidate I know you packed up to soon and would make a better candidate then Mr Elphicke but time will tell .I hope we have again public debates like last time,we have send out letters to all partys in the Dover Constituency A request to take part in a public meeting and debate with all the partys candidates there.I will find out in the morning if that will take place.I just hope like last time it will be fair. Again thank you for your post might see you up at the D,D.C on Monday when we come to the meeting.

09:0841413Howard.You are right I think it was a trap for me but I have been around to long.I have no feelings and will not be saying anything about the BNP,to me they are just a party like all of us and I will be treating them the same as the rest. But I like Mr Watkins and the blues will miss him talking at meetings he was good at it.

10:2541534Dreams come true Sue,as I have just put on Barrys blog, this time round we are going to get a bigger turn out around about 80% "Why" you might say, well they will be voteing to kick out the main partys for what they have or no done done over the last five years, they have let the public down in a bad way and on voteing day it will be pay back time for them "Just wait and see" we will be taking votes from all the main partys +the ex ones who are voting. We only have to read the papers look at the T,V or just look around us to see how bad we have been let down by both the Blues and the reds.

12:5841554Vic might be right on that, I too expect a much higher turnout than what we have seen since 1992. The big driver will be to get Labour out with the Conservatives the main beneficiary.

13:0041555Yes, I agree there may well be a higher turnout (unless we get weather like today) - but 80%? I very much doubt it........
