there is a rumour going around that there will be a prize draw on the evening, first prize a night out with simon crowley.
no doubt someone will make a tasteless comment about the booby prize being two nights out with him.

I feel sure that everyone who has something positive to add and is prepared to start doing, not just saying, will be very welcome, from whatever walk of life.

My proposal from a month or so ago is still up and running.
I estimate £200 pounds worth of funds could already be waiting for investment, half of which from me.
All initial paper work would have to be done on a voluntary basis once a general agreement were reached.
And that's not something I can do alone. Mine is the initial idea, but such a project needs Community participation.
Nothing for the faint hearted.
Currently the idea is styled out on an A4 sheet of paper and will NOT be more fully costed than that at this stage.
Any interest?

What is your proposal Alexander? We're very interested to hear of it.
Please come along, EVERYBODY is welcome. Neil is far more diplomatic than me, there are plenty of people who want to see Dover improve as a place to live and work but far less people who are prepared to do anything about it.
Come on Dovorians, your town needs you

Simon , David hopefully a productive meeting for you and your colleagues this evening.
A very positive and progressive start to your initiative over the past year.

Practically, David, the proposal means that a community would have to find its own funds in order to invest these in the local productive economy.
And administer the funds - and assets it purchases and builds up from this invested money - without making a debt or borrowing from financial institutions.
If ever it came to fruition, until that day all preparatory work will have to be voluntary. What I have on a sheet of paper is a declaration of intent, a general outline, but others too would have to take it forward.

Alexander you've lost me.
Are you saying that you are bringing your proposal to the meeting?

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
