Most of what you are seeing would still be in place after the plan I was talking about,I still think it will come about oneday.

i would suspect a covenant or something similar would stop any chance of rapacious development.

I think there was a suggestion of converting part of the park to a caravan park in the 80s, fell foul of public uproar and terms of the establishment of the park.

Howard, thanks for the link to Castle Forum
I have had a good look around the site and it seems I live in their catchment area, they meet up on alternate months so I will email Les Richmond and join up.
That's a great set of Connaught Park pix Howard, the views over Dover from there are pretty awesome
David, you certainly have a beautiful dog, maybe one of these days we may see each other in the park.
I know there are a lot of repairs which will require professionals but there is a lot of other stuff that volunteers can tackle.

just occurred to me that the park would be ideal for a community payback team to get involved, the benches and shelters would be ideal for them, they may even get job satisfaction out of it.

Howard, that's a very good idea re community services, I guess there must be a point of contact that one can approach with this idea. Indeed, out in the fresh air in a very large park making good the benches and shelters etc would certainly give many a feeling of job satisfaction. I think it's worth pursuing this idea, what do others think?
David, I have a cocker spaniel, orange roan, she is 5 years old and very lovable but needs a lot of attention, it's as if the whole world revolves around her

I see my views on the park have been taken up by the Dover/Mercury today,and please to see that,if it did happen it would be a new start for Dover which is needed.

and also the same of the Western highs.

Roger had a computer and was using it pretty often - I used to receive emails from him quite regularly. It was a TV he didn't have or have any interested in.
I do agree with Vic that we do need top quality housing here - but not in Connaught Park.

We don't need a campaign Keith, it's a non-starter.

roger;
unfortunatly thats not how it works;
sometimes these little articles in the paper become reality unless opposed
i always recall being told by the council that the aviary at elms vale is not closing
in the next few weeks it did!!!!
so im always wary of such announcements, more so as the press are on the story.
so we need to be ready
