Right on cue, Tom Watson asked the PM a question in parliament concerning an alleged paedophile ring with connections to a previous government.

there were a lot of rumours going around in the eighties about senior government figures, no doubt some will be brought up again.

No doubt the speculation on Twitter will be well underway. A cynical observer would suggest Tom Watson has deliberately stirred this up to distract attention from the BBC. The different attitude of the Left to the BBC Saville affair when compared to phone hacking at News international is interesting.

Howard, if you think there is no politics involved in the Savile affair, you may be in for a bit of a shock. This story will grow and grow, and if the papers dig enough, will drag in senior politicians including former prime ministers and their aides. Savile is the tip of the iceberg. This story, if not suppressed, will be bigger than phone hacking.

Agreed, this story will eventually be the biggest political scandal ever - just try googling any combination of Savile, Dunblane, Hollie Greig, The Speculative Society and prepare to be shocked at what is already out there.
Certainly shouldn't be treated as an opportunity for a cheap joke Howard.

I've been forming a theory over the sir Paedo case, and that is, people were afraid of him because he had been promoted as some sort of patron of charities, becoming a kind of untouchable (opposite sense of the lowest class in Hinduism).
Information which I still have to verify has reached me that he even boasted publicly about his exploits.
His promotion by way of the Palace to "sir" is bound to be the basis for new and more entangled lodge theories....

Tony, this case is becoming more shocking by the day.
More and more people seem to have been at knowledge of what was going on, and there seems to have been a general feeling that the person involved, "sir" whatever, was untouchable. And that to speak out against him would lead to a brick wall.

From Long Beach Press Telegram:
"He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to charity and entertainment and received a papal knighthood from the Vatican."
Yet, the article states also:
"Previously feted for his charity work at hospitals and homes for children, Savile is alleged to have deliberately supported such causes to target troubled youths whose credibility would be questioned if they reported the alleged sexual abuse."
As can be seen here, no mortal person is in the place of God to see into a person's heart or discern their secretive actions, and so even the queen has made a terrible mistake, as too has the pope.
No offence meant, just a thought...but yes, I am for real.

It had nothing to do with the Queen, she is told who to is to be knighted by the powers who are in at the time, the above post yet again needs to be taken very lighly, as for being real----I also think that the heading of this post should drop the word Sir.

Without doubt this guy appears to have got away with a lot.
What is strange is that people have come forward after his death rather than during his life.
What does need to happen is those who knew and did nothing have to account for themselves, why would they say nothing
sorry but there are no excuses strong enough on this one

The Sun newspaper reported that "Savile allegedly molested a teenage girl live on TV in 1976.
The woman, then aged 19, was allegedly attacked by Savile during an episode of Top Of The Pops.
The woman approached a BBC producer immediately after the alleged incident, but was reportedly told to 'get lost'.
'I felt so embarrassed and ashamed because it was live on TV and all my friends and family were watching,' she told the newspaper.
'The worst thing was that he was so casual when he did it. He was committing a sexual assault live on the BBC and no one gave a damn' ".
So it seems that the Establishment knew and couldn't give a damn. How he got knighted is a disgrace unto itself.
