If they come in undetected, that is a problem as you say Howard, but if people arrive here by plane of ship, the Border Agency know what country that plane or ship came from and they should be sent back to that country.

I am sure there is always a way of " loosing " a passport or ID. Then you are undetectable as well? Just thinking as People can be very ingenious when it comes to them as a "lifesaving" decision making.
Unless BDA is holding data of all passports when enter the country for a certain length of time.

quite common for people to have an id passing through many countries then lose it when they are halfway across the channel.
at one time everyone arrived from wartorn kosovo.
it then transpired that there were 3 times more kosovans in western europe than there ever were in kosovo.

As the strains of resource go up on British society votes will change

KeithB - I do think that much of what you say about the strains on our resources, may well be true as many/most voters do want more constraints on who comes here and who doesn't and who receives benefits and who doesn't.
There's not an infinite amount of money or land to house/support/employ the rest of Europe should they decide to come here. The EU beaurocrats think we can accept everyone, the truth is, we can't.

i read a lengthy piece on the "independent" website earlier about the effects on immigration in london over recent years.
it is now the polish and lithuanian construction workers complaining about romanians taking a lot of their jobs.
the reason they are unhappy is that wage rates are being pushed down, ring any bells?

Its all very fine KeithB, but I know there are alot of scroungers and benefit cheaters are british citizen. what you are going to do with them;)
I see your point and think where you coming from,as this is not just happening in the uk.
Its a EU - Issue.
I dont think, to blame it on migrants and foreigners and point fingers they need to get out its solving the problems the country is having now.
The problem is, I believe too much red tape, no one wants to take up that kind of responsibility and also big issue is DISHONESTY.
Not sure if you ever looked out the open Window, but there is more under the boiling point then you can imagine. These Points you raised are very in the direction of far right. Looks like The Human Race dont learn from their mistakes???

Howard, this issue you mentioned in your last post 111 Germany faced 10 years ago and now the wages are on a all time low for many years and years ahead.... England will go the same way eventually, as this will thrive the economy up, up & up. As it is like this in Germany.

I seem to recall that West Germany had a similar problem with/attitude towards the Turks in the early 80s. In the time I spent there in the Ruhr region, their attitude was quite hostile towards them and as a result, the Turks withdrew into their 'ghettoes' even more. Is the situation still the same Heike?

i may be good for the economy heike but not good for the people that see their standard of living fall.
surprised the germans put up with it.

they are tired Howard .... thinking back, I understand it more than ever. Its like an Illness, you fight it or you loose it.
Sometimes its pointless to go on and on and on. I do hope in some ways, England is doing the right thing themselves as it would be a shame, if they choose the same path as Germany. But it certainly looks that way.
England should be independant. I believe its too strong influenced by the US. It shouldnt be. There are lots of intellegent english People outhere and should be confident in things they are doing.

Paul Isles, I grew up in the eastzone

But the turkish people are more integrated in these areas than the west.
