this chap was cracking away earlier on his own, appeared to be doing some weeding and pruning.
incidentally the row of benches in front of the yacht club are still intact.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I can only Echo Sue Evans - enough! We need some prettifying in the town right now, and some decent communication from the local reps.

Prettifying???? is that even a word?
I can think of a number of ways to make the town prettier; sadly they are mostly illegal or likely be deemed to breach someone's human rights

Maybe the powers that be will provide deckchairs for a nominal fee along the seafront until the return of the memorial benches, with the option of a hanging floral basket, extra charge applies.

Ted Smith asked Watty about the deck chair franchise on another thread last week Barry.

#46, I am totally with you Ross! And prettifying most certainly should be a word!!

the benches at the western end all present and correct, add them to the new ones in the crescents then there are more than enough seats for a busy summers day.
Fab!!!!

Hopefully they'll sort out those cracks in the new flooring on the prom before her Maj turns up. They really are quite ugly.

a valid point philip, in addition our grade 2 listed visitor information centre was unpersoned today despite it being a bank holiday weekend and a cruise ship in.
let's hope they get their act together in case our monarch needs to find the nearest kebab house.

Richard needs volunteers to man it as he can't run his boat and bus trips as well as man the kiosk, all by himself.
I think that the debacle over painting the Grand-shaft cost, him all those volunteers, although I thought Vic had stuck with him.
Are there no helpers to man it for him ?

We have a development today re the seafront..I imagine it is to do with the expected re-surfacing. here is the latest picture...not very exciting I know but if you look carefully you can see the green barriers which are going up today..there is no access to the seafront now along the eastern end. The blockage starts in the Toilets..or if I can re-phrase that, the area being blocked off starts the other side of the Toilets across the road from The Premier Inn.

hope when the wind gets up tomorrow and we have another drought storm , the cones dont get washed into the sea
half way across the channel the large container ships find they have to get in lane due to cones being present !!!!

Looks like only the DHB section of the seafront is being done, East of the toilets is DDC and that looks fenced off.
