397 years and 6 months is too much for potential investors to wait for a decision on the future of the port.
i know of 2 that have pulled out of projects here because of it.

Paul, you could be right, no rush.
When starting off 2 and a half years ago it was well-meant, but let's hope they don't burn the cake in the oven by leaving it too long!
Even the nicest intentions at some point can turn sour. People might just give up!

The consultation period was extended by three weeks for the benefit of DHB staff and their unions following Dr G's announcement of further job cuts. New expiry date is 18 Aug.
