I have crossed keyboards with Vic on here in the past but as with many of these forums it's easy to be critical when looking at a screen but totally different when you meet someone in person (Hi Keith

)
I happen to know from being on one of Vic's parish councils that he is putting a lot of time and effort into pursuing a project that is close to his heart and I think he will be very pleased if he can pull this one off and then retire to his garden, health permitting.

As many people will say, his heart is in the right place - he has always been passionate about Dover and whatever responsibilities he takes on.
He certainly doesn't get the verbal abuse on Dover Locals that he used to get on here.

roger;
you are correct, although it has to be said many of those buddies he has on locals now, were the same ones that used to moan about his postings when he posted on this forum!!!! strange world isn't it.

as everyone on here knows vic berated me for deleting abusive posts aimed at him.
i then saw him in town about a week later and asked him to confirm to me that i should let abusive posts go.
he was with his wife lesley at the time and said that everyone had the right to say what they liked about him.

if fabric fairy looks in you may well want to look at my post 75
i have tried to avoid any issue of an individual whilst alexander clearly has an axe to grind, which i have no interest in, nor should it realy be of any interest to this forum.
my comments were purely on ukip as a party
those have an axe to grind is up to them.
the comments i have made are factual
b ut in the interests of dignity i will leave it there

Vic is Vic. He is not perfect, neither am I, neither are any of you. You all know that he and I are on opposite sides of the debate about the port, amongst other things, yet still remain good friends. That's the way it should be. After all is said and done, he is one of the town's great characters and should be respected for the hard work he has done over the years, and still does for his parishes. Will you all therefore please stop knocking him, either directly or indirectly, and just get a life? Just possibly, he isn't quite as thick-skinned as you all think he is.

Well said Peter, I know I have knocked Vic in the past but hopefully I was never nasty with it.

just looked across and saw yet another manic rant from andy cooper where he names me and others as guilty of bullying.
no examples given and if he asks vic about the facts i have given in post 107 here he may decide to stop these abusive attacks.

#107, I think Vic would rather you had publicly admonished the posters than merely deleting the offending posts before most members knew what had been said.
Can we now arrange a truce between the two fora? this constant sniping is getting on my tits.

Could not agree more, those playing both sides against the middle are feeding the fire, time for it all to be put to bed.

I agree completely with #115 and #116, sadly some have too many axes to grind.

It's about time the record was turned over
But presumably Vic wanted publicity when he started the page views thread on the other forum. Keith got lured into it and received a telling-off, and retreated back to this forum. and the word spread.
It's not our fault!
