Neil, this thread was supposed to end the Port discussion based on wild theories, after which, if anyone had wanted to start a thread based on Dover Port and reality, they could have done so.
Unfortunately, we cannot move on now, because a few people are blocking it with unfounded claims.
This will go on and on, while you pose for the next photo with Charlie and a banner called "save the White Cliffs, the French are coming...!"
Also, had anyone wanted to start a thread on Community regeneration based on some form of reality, they could have done so, instead, we will have this constant claim hanging around that "DPPT will solve all problems and refinance Dover and District". and wherever else DPPT had once said they would finance the economy, as far as Wales, if my memory serves me right.
This was EXACTLY what DHB had also claimed in 2010 in the Dover Express, that they would sell the Port and kick-start the economy in England, Wales, and even on the Continent. Yes, I read it in the Dover Express, it is all there, just see the archives.
And you wrote something very similar back in 2010.
Crazy dream!
You have a few faithful, they will follow you and believe you. Peace be with them!
I've given up trying to prove to you and your faithful few that the DfT had informed me all along that my representations were being taken into consideration as much as anyone else's, yours included.
Only you claim to have a special standing with the Government, to be above Public Consultation, to be above Government decisions, to be the rightful heir to Dover Port and the rightful heir to Community regeneration.
You want to sell our Port to DPPT, and then govern the borrowed money, and run the Port.
You were told by 10 Downing Street back at the end of 2010 (or was it 2011?), that the answer is no.
Your offer expired then.
There is no mention of DPPT in any Department for Transport plans on the future of Dover.
You have only your poker game to go by, I asked you to uncover the cards, but the bluff goes on.
You mentioned yesterday an "updated plan that you will offer", and so-by proved to us all that your offer has been rejected!
I'm moving on, Neil; the Community regeneration in connection with the Port has been rejected in block by the Government.
And the Port will not be privatised.
Another Government may decide one day on Community regeneration from the Port.
It won't be DPPT.
The Government has declared that the tariffs at the Port will NOT be increased to finance anything, and this means that KCC's proposals to finance the maintenance of roads in Dover District from a Port revenue have also been rejected.
And DDC will not get a penny from Port revenues either.
I've told the Forum the facts so soon as the DfT informed me. This being the reason for this thread.
The letter came last Friday.
You were given the possibility to admit the facts with decency, that DPPT's representations (for they were NOTHING other than representations in a Public Consultation) have also been rejected.
You chose to go on bluffing.
Sweet dreams, Neil, to you and your followers, and perhaps we'll see you posing on the front page of the local press soon with Charlie MP holding a banner saying: STOP NAPOLEON The French are coming!
Bye bye, Neil. Happy dreams
