Having been in and chatted to Laura - she currently has no plans for spiders
She will be stocking snakes, bearded dragons, lizards, terrapins, tortoise, lizards, etc

surprised about tortoises they were banned for export many years ago, must be that the law has been changed.
long ago they used to pack them into crates for shipment and most died on the journey.

i don't doubt that, seems that the numbers have recovered at the point of origin and no doubt that transit regulations are more civilised.
they make a very amusing pet, i have many anecdotes of my family one who lasted for 90 years.

There is a chap in Dover that breeds them Howard. He prefers to remain anonymous however as there is a brisk trade in tortoise-napping!

I heard today that a certain very well known hardware retailer has shown an interest in the old Sainsbury building. I am keeping fingers crossed that they take it over, the much needed roof repairs are being done at the moment.

I told them about it a long time ago when I pleaded with them to come to Dover. I believe Sainsbury's lease has now run out.

that would be good news if wilkinson's came, would fill a lot of the hole left by b & q.
surprised about the roof repairs i was told that it would cost in the region of a hundred grand to put right.

Howard, somebody was inside the building on Tuesday as the lights were on, the builders were working up on the roof today.

My understanding is as follows
The freehold recently changed hands
The new owners immediately renegotiated lease terms with Delmaines so they wouldnt close down
The new owners have committed to fix the roof issues as they wish to get a decent return from their investment
The new owners are in negotiations with a number of leading retailers to take over various parts of the site.
The new owners are looking at the viability of putting some form of escalator into the upper floor so that they can make it attractive to a major clothing retailer

I understand TKMaxx are no longer interested. The games shop is going in November and there is uncertainty with the cafe who are not doing very well. I feel sorry for them I have noticed that since the TVs went in trade has dropped possibly as they are rather noisy .

I was told today that it is not Wilkinsons

, I was told who it might be as a certain retailer was interested about a year ago but lost interest because of the leaky roof. Goodness knows which rumour is right or even way off track as some of previous ones have been.
