I'm told that the former "Little Rascals" in London Road is going to be a Portuguese food shop.

will be interesting to see this, there is no portuguese population here as far as i know so they will have to appeal to the rest of us.
i found portugal to be the best place for food that i have visited but that was in restaurants, i would imagine that this enterprise would be selling the basic ingredients.
It would be lovely! Bring it on!

The old Phillips and Drew shop is going to be a computer shop doing repairs. They were painting the inside when I went past at lunch time so I asked a very nice young man.

surprising that, we have two excellent ones in town as it is, and others that work from home.

The old army surplus store in London Road is opening soon as a "reptile shop" - presumably selling reptiles - but possibly selling stuff to the local reptiles???

That made me smile, Ross!
#50 - Howard, don't be so picky! When I lived in Paris for a while when young I never questioned the food, just ate it! And I am glad - if I had known then what I had been eating (I realise now!) I would never have eaten it, and I did so enjoy it. Take a risk!

different when it has been cooked in a restaurant bern, i like to know what it is, what i have to do to it and what to serve with it if i am buying from a shop.
i go past a lot and have not seen anyone go in or out over the last week.
I can recomend the slabs of very fat bacon , they are fantastic really really tasty and very different to the watery aneamic versions available from some supliers , you do have to be able to tolerate very fatty food though
When I was a meat eater the Eastern European meats and meals were the best - using fat and muscle to deliver a really tasty punch. But you are talking to a woman who used to enjoy pigs trotters, so be wary.
