This sounds like a bit of an over reaction to receiving presumably an anonymous message. As upsetting as that must have been it doesn't make any sense to me why a bit of negativity would make her stop fundraising. Also why does she feel the need to share this with everyone else? It smacks of attention seeking in this modern social media world we live in.

Paul, I have not seen the message but others have and it was supposed to be very nasty and the message was not anonymous. She felt she had to explain to her supporters why she was stopping and was not "attention seeking" as you unfortunately put it, she even asked that a thread supporting her with over 100 positive comments be deleted.

There was something in the media about dubious groups collecting money for Kelly and her parents were concerned and asked people just to donate to the official one.

That's absolutely amazing! Still a long way to go to though, so please share the Justgiving page and the link to the Kelly Turner fundraising page with all your friends.

On the 22nd of October between 2pm and 4pm rain or shine starting at Table Table end of Promenade, we hope to get people to come down and start a line of 50 pence pieces and see how far we can get along the prom in those two hours, so if you have a spare 50 pence please come and lay it, all monies collected on that day, will be put with all monies raised on the 29th at the Clarendon and Westbury funday for Kelly Turner, there will be quite a lot of us in the line up, so no-one can come along and nick it

The Dover Athletic Supporters' Club's Quiz Night raised a grand total of £652.00 last night. This included a number of individual donations on the night in addition to the raffle and entrance fees.

Two District Councillors from out of the ward Ben Glayzer and Keith Morris turned up and did a stint each in the stocks - much appreciated by all.
