I agree Howard, I still do not really understand why our medics refuse to treat her even if she was to contribute to the treatment in the UK by going private.
This reminds me of the little boy that our medics refused to treat but was successfully treated abroad. Why are these doctors refusing operations if the patient is prepared to take the risk because they have nothing to loose when they are so ill.

I just assumed the treatment was not available here Jan, some countries are in advance of others in certain illnesses. What I do think is that when a new discovery is made but not yet passed all the relevant tests then patients should be offered it if their condition is really serious.

If there was the smallest chance of success I know I would accept any treatment regardless of the drug or procedure having passed all the myriad of tests they have to go through.

Just had a message through from Keef that the Clarendon and Westbury Community association are now involved with fundraising for Kelly. All users of the hall will be asked to donate what they can and an event is now planned for the 29th October with a bouncy castle and a band. More details nearer the time.

I think it is wonderful the way the town is rallying to raise this much needed money which makes a complete mockery of all those negative comments about the people of Dover.

From Kelly Turner Fundraising....
"Just to let everyone know that today's total amount raised is £199,646.00, which is amazing!
Our heartfelt thanks to the generosity and kindness of everyone for making donations and continuing to hold fundraising events for Kelly. Every penny is so much appreciated. But we've still got a long way to go before Kelly can get her cancer treatment in the USA.
We do our best to read all the messages, so please bear with us if we don't respond immediately. If we have missed messages, we do apologise. Please could you possibly send us the message again."

"What a Saturday!! A total of £1470.00 raised by the amazing people of Dover. Thank you to all who joined us for the BIG breakfast. 132 breakfasts served! You'll see from the photos below our amazing chef worked very hard - he hadn't had enough when he put his head in the oven, it had gone out! Thanks to all the generous football supporters at Dover Crabble Athletic ground that put money in the collection buckets. So much support seen today

"Delfont Rooms - Prince of Wales Theatre (London West End)
CABARET FOR KELLY
We are producing a Cabaret for Kelly in the heart of London at the Prince of Wales Theatre's very own Delfont Suite following the Musical Book of Mormon. The date is to be confirmed but plans are underway for this to happen. If you would like to be part of the line-up then we are looking for a donation from you to come along and perform. This is to help with running costs and hire for the venue. Contact me asap with your bid to be one of the 10 lucky performers... Email:
jiginthebox@hotmail.co.uk or PM me as soon as possible.
The performance will take place at 10.30pm straight after the performance of Book of Mormon and will finish around 1am - We could look at possibly using a mini-bus for cast members otherwise it'll mean family and friends making their own way to watch you perform. This will be a major undertaking and will give you a chance to perform in the heart of London's West End and also help try to raise money & profile for the KELLY TURNER FUND.
Interested? - Then send your bid to me asap!!! I will also be speaking to some London cast members to perhaps join the line-up to perform.
DOING NOTHING IS NOT AN OPTION - #doingitforkelly
Let's make this happen!!!"

Some people really are evil, one of Kelly's fundraising groups have today stopped what they were doing because some small mined idiot sent the organiser a really nasty message. I do hope the lady changes her mind especially as she has raised nearly £1000 in a very short time. Here is her closing message.
I'm really sorry to say this but I'm closing the group, after a private message this afternoon that has had me in tears, I've been made to feel like I'm doing the wrong thing, so I feel the only option I have is to close the group. My daughter's and I want to say a massive thank you to you all for your donations, effort and all the things you have bought to make money for kelly. Those of you that still have stuff to collect, I'm happy for you to come and collect, but I won't be taking any more money to pay in, so you would need to pay it in to kellys fund yourselves. Once again thank you for all your support x

This sounds like a bit of an over reaction to receiving presumably an anonymous message. As upsetting as that must have been it doesn't make any sense to me why a bit of negativity would make her stop fundraising. Also why does she feel the need to share this with everyone else? It smacks of attention seeking in this modern social media world we live in.
