Tories round up all the rebels in bid to save Flashman from defeat.
A frantic campaign to rescue David Cameron from a damaging defeat over the future of press
regulation is to be waged by Downing Street before a commons showdown.
A group of Tory MP`s who have voiced support for enshrining the new news paper watchdog in law
will be ``ordered``to change their mind by ````Whips......over the weekend ......high noon Wednesday..

Path clears for Boris Johnson as Tories fear defeat
A Conservative MP has told David Cameron that he would hand over his seat to Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, who is
widely seen as a future Tory leader.
Sir Peter Tapsell, who represents the Lincolnshire constituency of Louth and Horncastle, made the frank admission after he
was asked by the Prime Minister if he would stay on in the Commons until the next election.
Mr Cameron said the party could do without another by-election. The veteran MP duly replied that he was "keeping his seat
warm for Boris".
An increasing number of Tories believe the mayor is a potential Conservative leader, with the ebullience and popular appeal to
win elections.
But Mr Johnson has pledged to stay on as mayor until 2016 and could only stand in a Tory leadership contest if an MP offered
to give up their seat after the next general election.
Sir Peter's offer is the clearest of its kind made by a Conservative MP so far and came as Westminster was awash with
rumours of plots by Tories positioning themselves to succeed Mr Cameron. His exchange with the Prime Minister has become
a subject of some gossip between fellow backbenchers.

Dithering Dave is ready to give ground over Press Reform .His `bluff`bid to go to the vote fell foul
over the weekend so our `poker`` playing PM is forced to `rethink` after Tory rebels
let him know he was heading for a damaging defeat in the commons.
Cameron`s credibility is almost but done.
The Conservatives are plotting and talking themselves to death
There are more than two years to go before the next election, but many Tories are acting as if they've already lost
Labour should be ashamed of its 10-point lead:
There are two ways of thinking about the future for the Conservatives, a grim way and a brighter way.
Let's consider both, starting by looking through the Tory glass darkly. Conservative reasons to be
depressed number one: the coalition is eating itself.
The Tories and the Lib Dems are fighting over press regulation, welfare cuts and a whole lot else
while the Tories are at war with themselves over far too many things to list.
His grip over his colleagues weakening, David Cameron is gaining such a reputation for being
jostled around by stroppy ministers and pushed into U-turns that he is beginning to resemble
the love child of John Major and Ted Heath.
To add to the many skidmarks on the tarmac of Downing Street, the government has just
made a forced retreat on the "bedroom tax" while the prime minister has suffered a rout at
the hands of senior colleagues over minimum alcohol pricing.
On his febrile backbenches, Tory MPs are reacting to unpopularity with panicked plotting - not
so much headless chicken as headless vulture syndrome.
Leadership wannabes in the cabinet are exploiting the situation by positioning themselves for the
succession, manoeuvres that further corrode the prime minister's authority.
There is no respite in sight. George Osborne will this week deliver a budget that he'd cancel were it not
an inescapable event in the chancellor's calendar.
He will again have to confirm that he's missed his targets for the deficit, for growth, you name it,
he's flunked the tests that he set himself.

Looking at the bigger picture, Boris must be rubbinh his hands at the mouse's own goals,
So much going wrong for the mouse
but the party is unforgiving, just waiting for the right time to pounce
Remember maggie, at one point untouchable, that was until her own party decided it was time to go
its all happening again,,,,,,,

As I've said before Keith thats hardly a startling revelation, Cameron is a disaster.
Labour are useless but they're not stupid, they know Cameron is a liability and spend their time attacking Osborne, when, and its not if its when, Boris chucks his hat in the ring its a different story.
Politics these days is about personality and people love Boris regardless of his policies.
If I were one of the labour triballists I'd be doing everything I can to ensure Cameron is around at the GE.

In that case Keith, as a career politician, you should encourage your lot to stop calling him the mouse and flashman and realise he is labour's best chance of winning the GE.
Your stance is very peculiar as Boris will show Ed up as the geeky little post grad he is.

Boris is a very clever and intelligent man who benefits from people like Brian misjudging him, it is a deliberate strategy he uses well. He would not be my first choice for leader though.
