Good for Bermuda, why jeopardise your own wellbeing because useless politicians are wringing their hands

Cameron faces defeat over Syria
DAVID CAMERON has been warned that he faces an embarrassing defeat in the Commons
if he tries to win parliamentary agreement for Britain to arm Syrian rebels.
The prime minister and William Hague, the foreign secretary, are keen to help the forces fighting
President Bashar al-Assad, but Conservative whips have told Downing Street there would be little chance of winning a vote.

It appears very unclear as to who it is that we would be arming, and if it would actually help the situation, or just cause a new one.
I'm still unsure if arming unknown rebels is the right way at this time

supplying any side of the conflict with weapons is a recipe for a disaster, dave won't get the support of the commons anyway.

America is self sufficient in oil and gas ,
The middle east in flames preventing stable supplies of oil to china would benefit America ,

We need to be careful whom we arm. Rather than sending weapons to anyone, I would argue for humanitarian efforts to limit the suffering of displaced Syrians, and alleviate the pressure on neighbouring countries. Perhaps also, if the US imposes a no-fly zone from Incirlik AFB in Turkey, we could support that from RAF Akrotiri.

We have no combat aircraft stationed at Akrotiri but they could be there in 5 hours.

Creating a no-fly zone is certainly one way to irk the Russians, something which may or may not be better than arming, for the danger there is we will only end up arming those most willing to fight.
I had been hoping that Hague (and Obama, come to that) was pushing the threat to arm as a way to get all sides around the table.
Alas, was it ever going to be 'all sides'?

Hang on Keith, Peter and I disagree but you agree with both of us.
Did you ever abstain at council meetings?

Let Syria get on with it and do not involve us.

My view is not to arm unknown rebels
OK so maybe looking at alternatives (no fly zones) etc I could be persuaded on,
The meeting between the mouse and Putin showed one of the many difficulties.
I do often wonder about world affairs, At what point would you/should you do something if thousands being killed/seriously injured. ?
It is quite complex, with the unknown outcomes

Its not complex at all, it is nothing whatsoever to do with us. Cameron cannot justify the cost and potential loss of life, he is a fool.
