Very sustainable if suitable Neil.
Add Burlington House, County Hotel & an odd multi storey car park material & it is invaluable to the carbon footprint.
Locally sourced, where available & suitable is always preferable.

Must surely be a lot more cost effective without the big transport costs to supplier and receiver, never mind the benefit of a lower carbon footprint.

Completely different area of the Sands Howard. This vessel is near the Northern end of the Goodwins and off a bit to the East, probably about 10km away from the area that is subject to the dredging license application to the MMO.

The results of the recent magnetometer survey will not be available until August according to the MMO.

They really should have got Time Team to do it they got the results there and then - always enabled Baldrick and his archeo-henchmen to hatch a cunning plan

Bringing this one back to the top.
I know the D.H.B. are hoping that we will forget about it,but not so the fight still goes on about the D,H,B, taking more sand from the Goodwin sands ,they should find the sand they need from other place,s and let the Goodwin sands war graves alone .

THanks Ross, thats really brightened my weekend, the thought of Tont Robinson presenting an episode of Time Team from the Goodwin Sands as the tide slowly rises....best episode ever.

We still need to keep talking about it to let the D.H.B. know we are still about.

Why? It's down to the regulator to decide - which is why we have a regulator!

It would appear the DHB are getting sand from Harwich.
Could be the sane solution.

Could also be a far more expensive solution.

Dredging it or from an aggregate supplier? If the latter it will be for building not infill unfortunately.

Goodwin Sands protection campaigners are raising funds "to be able to employ specialist consultants and selective legal advice leading up to the unprecedented third public consultation period, due to start in August 2017". If anyone cares to donate, here's the link -
