Dover, despite being the busiest passenger port in Europe is one of the most deprived places in the UK.
Most deprived??? You really should get out more David! Here's the actual figures:-

Perhaps you mean most depraved? But even then it's helpful if you stick to facts rather than personal experience.

This is getting ludicrous now, the very serious subject has been turned into personal attacks, Christine is right people should start other threads.

Back to the orignal topic.I think it's very sad that the Dover Harbour Boards plans are being held up by sentiment.Im sad that the old Hoverport pad has gone ,sad that the Marine Station is no longer used for what it was intended. The Dover glory days have long gone, but sometimes you have to move on.Must just say David not misplaced loyalty The Chairman Role is not political.and I covered many areas of f the District during my tenure of Office.DTC have a lot to,answer for.My ward was River and I ensured it was always a decent place to live.

Yet another opportunity for local firms to stop whining and start working. I wonder how many will turn up at the Cruise Terminal today?

A lot of ppl down the centuries perished in violent storms and War on the Goodwin sands and it should be left entirely alone ,No one has the right to disturb that and it's about time DHB realised that

At the risk of overkill Neil Wiggins and Joanna Thomson have been interviewed for BBC SE Today to be broadcast tonight (Thursday) at 6.30pm.

No real surprises there with two skilled communicators putting their cases eloquently, I must admit pleasure to knowing that DHB are clearly rattled by this small group that is very well lead. The BBC need to do their homework, saying that shops, hotels and restaurants are"planned" due to the DWDR.

It would be amusing if the nutters were not causing DHB time and money.
It's the equivalent of the BBC interviewing Galileo Galilei , and in the interests of 'balance' asking Dover's own Samuel Shenton to have time on TV.

I do hope you have stopped promoting that primitive stuff about the world being spherical Bob.
Modern science goes to show that if it was we would all fall off, not a good thing in my opinion.

This group was originally formed by core of women, myself included.
Most certainly it has grown and grown, with reasonable and sensible discussion.
It is serious, because, myself, having lost the joy of the Prince of Wales Pier. Felt the Dover Harbour Board needs to be answerable, to questions in the public domain.
As the original poster said, they must have known it would cause problems. They have totally misread the situation.
Captain Haddock or Bob Frost as I imagine you are. Please - we are not nutters. OK?

Not heard anymore on this one is that good news or bad?Mr Wiggins must know now that the D.H.B. are just using him ,all of the leaders are keeping out of view not on the TV etc, because they have no wish to be seen. So They have put Mr Wiggins out in front putting his face out on the TV in the papers etc,so he will get all the public slack if they get the go a
head to take the sand.

Having not objected to the proposed dredging, despite committing £1.5M to the recharge of Oldstairs Bay at Kingsdown.
The Environment Agency has at long last, thanks to our constant pressure, agreed to call a meeting with DHB and their consultants.

All very predictable, when anyone wants to get through an unpopular move the word "jobs" is screamed.
The last two paragraphs in that article sum things up to my mind.
