Paul, I was going to take a picture lunchtime of the three flag poles being erected, but thought it maybe a bit boring after this long wait. Crowds of french school kids on the beach, with the constant (sometimes) noise of building works in progress.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

I don't think they are new flagpoles. It's the new "lighting wave".

Been nice knowing you :)
Yippee, the flag poles are going up. People are going to flock to our seafront to see the wondrous dozen flagpoles, all of varying heights. Not.
At 9:40 this morning there were about 14 people on site, not one working although they all looked as if purposefully going about their business. Not.
Having said that, in the spirit of positivity, last night the sea was as calm as a mill pond. It was the kind of evening you long for when you go on holiday. Lights reflected in the water and an almost full moon. Magical!

Indeed it is moving on a pace and looks like it will be ready for the regatta.
The "flagpoles" are actually lighting masts as indicated in the original plans and constitute the third wave of the design.
I am actually impressed at how it is all coming together and how it looks

Scotchie have tried to look at that but am asked to join Yahoo before I can see it. This didnt use to happen did it? but once or twice lately the same thing has happened to me when I tried to look. So...bit disappointing.
The fault might be my end as Im having some ongoing security issues with email and whathaveyou.

Latest on this is that the contractors expect to be finished in the last week of July, approximately one month behind the original schedule.
True friends stab you in the front.
PaulB, Your not alone! I`ve also noticed recently that I get the same message as yourself that you need to join Yahoo if you want to view the pics.
Nothing stays the same eh?

Thanks Scotchie...all Dover needs now is a pleasant urine and beggar free route to the seafront so tourists and townsfolk can enjoy the new wavy promenade.

absolutely stunning paul, maybe the tourism folk or the town council could use it in their promotions?
i must admit i am now onside with the promenade, once the turf is down and the flower beds planted it should be promoted as a reason to visit dover.
