After entering to win tickets for the Olympic Torch stage event on Dover Seafront, I got a confirmation email from Ticketmaster.
The subject was mis-spelt 'Dover Torch Relay Sucessful Application'
Congratulations on successfully applying for tickets for the Olympic Torch Relay Evening Celebration - Song for Dover on Wednesday 18 July on Dover Seafront.
Dover District Council is delighted to tell you that you are a successful ballot winner. Please see below for your password and instructions on how to book your tickets.
The Olympic Torch Relay Evening Celebration attracted more than 19,000 applicants and because of such high demand, applicants are restricted to a maximum of 5 tickets and cannot go beyond this allocation.
This spectacular event will clearly mean considerable traffic around Dover Town and surrounding area on the afternoon and evening of the event, so please think about using public transport or car-sharing in order to reduce congestion.
The event begins at 5.30pm. Upon arrival you will need to have your tickets checked and bags searched before you are allowed into the event when the gates open at 2pm.
Please do not bring alcohol with you as this will be confiscated by security. Only Alcohol purchased at the event itself is permitted. Make sure you bring your tickets with you as otherwise you will not be allowed in to the event.
Dover District Council would like everyone to have a great time at this celebration event. Please follow the signs and obey any instructions given by the marshalls. Above all, enjoy yourselves and help Dover District celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime occasion as the Olympic Torch arrives.
