keith posted a while back about the powers of p.c.s.o's, they covered all the problems that annoy us.
then someone(i think it may have been paulw) stated that each chief constable decides what powers they have.

11:5694319Thanks for that Terry.
Dover Pride in the background ! but hasn't Pride in Dover always been in the background ? Until we can all put it in the foreground, nothing will change.

16:5894346Speaking of such things, my wife's office was opposite the Professor of German. He had a cartoon on the wall. It was similar to the above picture but it had a foot descending on it. A speech bubble came from the "pile", it said "Mein Gott, ein Fuß!"
Well I thought it was funny.

20:5494378Well done Terry for bumping the thread with such a graphic picture.
The sort of picture that should be thrust in front of those responsible for policing this increasing problem, or maybe we should make a collectinn

of the stuff and present them with the bags full.

10:3794416I'm quite happy for anyone to use it Kath but I daresay I would be slagged off for running down Dover.
I feel a campaign coming on to get something done about it although according to Peter the hierarchy in the police "have bigger fish to fry". With that attitude, what hope is there?

11:3994419Terry, media pressure works wonders, in this case it shows we have a pride in our town.
How about pictures of the offenders on lamposts with owners with a suitable caption, something like, they leave their mess for others to clean up.
The big problem is that those up high in their ivory towers do not care what us humble pedestrians have to avoid everytime we walk out of the door, they get driven or drive from door to door. I bet the minute one of them stepped on the stuff something would be done.

09:3394553Perhaps we should all send such pictures to the local paper. They can publish the best (worst!) in a feature called Poo Corner. (With apologies to A.A.Milne)

20:2194632Picked this one up at DDC Cabinet this morning.
Conclusion was as previously posted to get all enforcement agencies to take & use their powers to create a united front on this & litter.
This will now go to Kent Leaders Forum for discussion & seeking endorsement to ask Chief Constable [see Front page] to use his powers .
In Deal the areas worst affected seem to have a common theme, the deposits appear after dark & before dawn.
It is part of the Street cleaning contract to clean these areas up on request from the public as well as routine street cleansing.

20:4194638i can believe that, as the saying goes "it is always dark brownest before the dawn".
on a lighter note the bit about enforcement agencies creating a united front on those issues left me chortling rather loudly.
must be the way you tell them paul.
