It's O.K. I've looked back and found the spelling mistakes on page 2.

The following sentence:
"required the fleet returned for use.."
Would an infinitive be better placed?

Last minute carving Paul? Please expound. Must admit I couldn't believe how sloppy the work was on this very important and deserving memorial.

Thanks Howard but yes I did previously. Whoever perpetrated such irreverence should be taken out and shot. Chinese,Vietnamese and whatever other 'ese is no excuse. Such disregard for detail is totally reprehensible. It would seem indeed that the pictured squad of sailors is well positioned. Is 'Firing Squad' on the Saturday Itinary?

you of all people would know (with your ambitious project) that budget constraints mean cutting costs and corners to get things done.
my understanding is that the designer had no other option and was shrewd enough to allow for certain errors knowing that there was enough leeway to get anything amended in time for the unveiling and still be quids in.
should be a great event tomorrow.

OK Howard point taken-you are quite right. But why deliver the memorial to site before making the corrections? We all sail close to the wind occasionally but generally (because we care) have a good outcome. If this had been accomplished the negative side of this thread would not have existed. Would Paul put up with this if the projected Western Heights memorial suddenly turned up with such massive cock ups?

As those responsible are well aware, if only...the thing had remained under wraps the corrections would only have been 'final adjustments'.
Now that said 'final adjustments' have been successfully completed there is nothing left but the unveiling ceremony and associated Public Relations exercises...and a bit of human interaction on the pleasant side of respectful.
[I look forward to the photographic record of all the above being posted here anon.]
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
