Went to see the memorial earlier, very nice it is too. Story told in full on both side. Just one thing. I did pass English at school. Have we added an 'r' the word evening without my knowing? Or did I read that wrong?

I think you are mixing up the times Brian................I.45 until 2.15 which is half an hour

When the German admiral, wearing navy-blue jacket and trousers, received the order to sail through the Strait of Dover, he said to his adjutant: bring me my telescope.
Having espied the White Cliffs, he then turned to his adjutant and said: bring me my brown leder-hosen.

sorry to go off topic but the comments above by alex reminds me of a piece of history.
nelson standing on the bridge of his at the battle of trafalgar dressed in a bright red tunic, his second in command is horrified and asks why he is making himself a target for the enemy, nelson - stiff upper lip - replies "i am setting an example to the men, should i be hit any blood will not show against the colour of my tunic".
his oppo says "excuse me a moment sir".
nelson "wherefore art thou going".
the reply came back "to change into the brown trousers sir".

Back on topic, the English is so bad throughout it has got to be down to the person who wrote, not whoever produced it.
