Have to disagree with you chaps as I am 100% English(formerly British) despite my family background. My neighbours over the years will confirm this due to the blood curdling screams I emit when England are beating someone in a tense football/cricket/rugby union international.
When Mo Farah outpaced his rivals in the 5000 and 10000 metres Olympic final in London people far and wide must have heard my reaction.

Believe it or not Brian I have worked with people that had my cockney accent and supported Ireland against England. I was told that this classed them as plastic paddies.

What a strange attitude to take over illegal immigrants being flown in rather than smuggled in on a lorry. If it was tobacco, or even drugs being smuggled into the UK by aircraft, which I'm sure has 'happened in the past, it would hardly raise an eyebrow.
I suppose this is the usual political bandwagon jumping that these folks do to try and make themselves look like they really care. Does anyone fall for this nonsense any more ?

As I've said to Charlie time and time again the only solution is biometric ID cards.
As long as people can get education, housing, health care, employment and other stuff they are not entitled to they will continue to come.

It always hugely amuses me that many recent immigrants often have a way, way better command of the English language and its associated grammar than the natives who are moaning about them.
