    Dover District Leisure Centre hosts first major competitive swimming event
    The new Dover District Leisure Centre hosts it's first major competitive swimming event this weekend with up to 300 swimmers representing 24 teams competing for honours at the Kent County Amateur Swimming Association Relay Championships 2019.

    Dover District Council is to invest £280,000 in a major CCTV upgrade as part of its latest plans to support the district's town centres. The investment will see new digital technology replacing existing cameras across Dover, Deal, and Sandwich, along with the introduction of the first CCTV cameras in Aylesham. The new technology also enables future investment in town centre Wi-Fi.

    Healthy Communities programme to launch at new leisure centre
    A range of classes and activities focused on promoting healthier lifestyles will be on offer at the new £26m Dover District Leisure Centre when it opens on Monday 25 February. The Healthy Communities programme includes sessions aimed at improving heart and mental health, post-natal exercise for mother and baby, and cancer rehabilitation.

    The new Dover District Leisure Centre is to open to the public at 9am on Monday, 25 February. Builders, BAM Construction, are due to formally handover the building on time and on budget to Dover District Council and operators, Places Leisure, on Friday, 15 February.
