DDC shortlisted for Keep Britain Tidy's Network Awards

Thursday, 15 December 2022
Dover District Council (DDC) has been shortlisted for a Keep Britain Tidy Local Authority Network Award.

The ‘Great British Spring Clean Award 2023’ recognises promotion, engagement, and delivery of The Great British Spring Clean Campaign.

The award is open to local authorities who took part in the Great British Spring Clean 2022, to highlight and celebrate their achievements throughout this campaign period. DDC has been shortlisted for its wide-reaching campaign, for targeting and engaging with its local residents and businesses and achieving a high level of participation.

Cllr Martin Bates, Portfolio Holder for Regulatory Services, said: "We are delighted to be shortlisted for the Great British Spring Clean Award. This is our third year of participation in the annual Keep Britain Tidy campaign, and the optimistic and determined collaboration between DDC and our local residents and businesses continues to grow. Taking pride in our district, and encouraging everyone to do their bit, means that we create a cleaner and greener place for everyone to enjoy."

Out of the around one hundred entries that Keep Britain Tidy receives, just three local authorities are shortlisted in each category.

A Keep Britain Tidy spokesperson said: "Our Network Awards celebrate the most innovative litter, waste and space solutions developed by local authorities, often with the incredible collaboration and contribution of residents. Our hope is that these fantastic initiatives will inspire others to do the same."

DDC will find out if they’ve won at Keep Britain Tidy’s Local Authority Network Awards taking place at the Crowne Plaza, Liverpool on Tuesday 9 February 2023.
