# 821.Agree,they are greedy but all the professions are following the true elite greedy pigs. It`s Contagion.
The true elite greedy pigs do not `stand up` they have to be exposed and the few that are just the tip of the ice berg, but we
are getting there slowly.

#821 there is a point that they are making, still not a compleat walk out.if every worker from street cleaner to docter and all those inbetween walked out compleatly then it would be a differant mater, then the country be at a stand still with the armed forces trying to do things.

A two tier system in social care is being created by the government with wealthy pensioners able to buy services and poorer
pensioners seeing funding cut for council funded beds in residential care.
The social care white paper is delayed but already the government are blaming the local authorities who have had their
revenue cut by the government.

comes across to me that there is a vendetta being waged by big government against local authorities.
we had the "spend your reserves" bit from big eric, then the offer to pay for weekly bin collections again by big eric - seemed to be a double edged sword so most councils waved a cheery finger at the large man.
now we have this latest scandal.

Cuts to home-based care for elderly is `false economy`and will cost Billions of pounds in the long term.
90% of GP`s say the cuts policy is putting at risk elderly patients according to a Red Cross survey.
Sir Nick Young CEO Red Cross says government should think beyond their `short term`policy as it is leaving more and more
vulnerable older people unable to access care and support.

at the same time i believe that k.c.c. are improving funding to home based care.
not only does it save money but is better for the patient not to be institutionalised.

Drastic drop in satisfaction with NHS has been blamed on Minister`s rhetoric attacking the Health service to justify the need
for the Health Reforms.
The drop,largest in three decades,was from a record 70 % down to 58 %.
In just two years the NHS has turned into an organisation demoralised, destabalised and fearful of the future.

One of the things the Labour Party were most proud of when fighting the last general election was the public's satisfaction with the National Health Service. The satisfaction figures scored an all time high as we can see in Reg's post above. This wasnt just a general easily acquired public relations satisfaction, it was a genuine one, after 13 years of Labour Government who as a rule I think it is fair to say always show a better committment to the NHS. They may have spent too much on it, but the public liked what they did.
I dont believe the new figures are mere perception based either because of all the talk about Lansley on TV, but are a real perception as noted by those many patients coming across daily.. an actual cut in traditional services.
The spin today suggests that these figures are good, showing an 8% above average...you may hear a lowly ranking minister saying similar on your news programmes tonight. But forget not while listening, that the figures are down from a record high.

there is no doubt that things did improve markedly under the last regime with waiting times for procedures coming down, treatments improving, patients being able to choose hospitals etc.
i think they could have got even more improvement with the money spent but at the end of the day patients only judge on delivery at the point of need.
the public are concerned about the future as most of us have no idea what the reforms will mean in practiced.

howard;
worst than people unsure of what reforms mean
the general public are concerned that the N.H.S. will be dimantled
bit by bit, and put in private hands, run only for profit, and you only get the service if you have the dosh to pay
