The appalling events of last Saturday have been discussed on other threads.I flagged up in October 2015,that the hooligans of the Far right and Far Left seem to assume that Dover needs a Marching season similar to Northern Ireland..
On page 8 of the Dover Express today, the RT Rev Bishop of Dover said the Rally was the town at its best and Ms Diane Abbott MP Labour Shadow Cabinet member described the White Cliffs of Dover as Racist Rocks and Mr Cameron should tear down the Cliffs. Is it only me who finds the comments reportedly made by the Bishop and Ms Abbott to be insulting and bizarre?
The Bishop of Dover has clearly a connection with Dover.. .What connection has Ms Abbott got with Dover?
Who invited Diane? The invite must have been sent by the local Labour party to Labour Head Office..In my experience, leaders of a party do not just turn up on away day and Ms Abbott is a senior figure of the Labour party.Who supplied her with directions ,who to meet, contacts, telephone numbers.
I am not blaming the Right Rev or the Shadow Cabinet Minister and others at the peaceful rally in Market Square for the violence that followed afterwards but it was very naive of the organizers who included Labour KCC,Dover District,Town Cllrs to advertise the confrontation and it was a confrontation, to all and sundry without expecting Fascists of Left and Right to converge on the Town for a brawl.
Over 3 weeks ago John McDonnell MP the Shadow Chancellor went to a meeting of Momentum in Ramsgate. Momentum group consists of Labour party Members,Socialist Worker Party members,Antifa,Unite against Fascists and other far left groups. The the event that evidently took place last Saturday were discussed between the Shadow Chancellor and Dover Labour Cllrs/members and others..A week later Mr McDonnell went on the BBC on Sunday and said that in the near future, there will be no nation states and no borders.
In the space of 4 weeks Dover and nearby have had the pleasure of 2 Shadow Cabinet Ministers visiting.

Found both of comments from the bishop and the rascist abbott disgraceful and emailed both expressing such, typically have no response from either, a lot of people need to take responsibilty for the events, yet all seem happy to deflect any criticism.

Finally it has been disclosed that a Labour Dover KCC,Dover District,Dover Town and a Labour Dover Town Councillors as well as others, are members of a organization called Dover Stand Up To Racism...I also understand that Cllr Gordon Cowan,no longer lives in Dover, even though he is KCC/Town Councillor for Dover..Who really represents Dover?
My question is,Do Labour Party policies originate from street demonstrations and other political parties of the Far Left?

Let's take this bit by bit, no point in bashing the Bishop as he would have been referring to the earlier rally making sure he was back in cloisters before the inevitable violence followed.
Whoever invited Ms Abbott was clearly being mischievous as some of her views make her as popular as a turd in a bouncy castle wherever she goes. I find it hard to believe that even someone as unpleasant as her made the comments reported.
I note that there are no comments from the councillors that organised the fiasco, hopefully they are thoroughly ashamed of their actions and it would have been nice if they held their hands up and took responsibility for the fear and anguish suffered by innocent people last Saturday who have little or no interest in politics.

Just seen Reg's comments, don't expect anyone involved to come out of hiding until it all blows over. I don't know what happened at the summit held on Tuesday but the extremists now see Dover as a soft touch.

Thank you Reginald. So its not only me.
For balance I wish to say Charlie Elphicke's comments on the Police,to be unhelpful and cynical..

I guess the Bishop also thought those in the black get-up/disguise (that I have seen in several photographs) who were also at the rally showed Dover at its best.
I just wish the clergy would keep their prejudiced or misguided opinions to themselves.
Anything from Diane Abbott's mouth I prefer to ignore as extremist rubbish.

Didn't see John there, saw the banner and another one about celebrating Dover's diversity, wonder if any of them put that on their election material?

According to this His Holiness wasn't there on the day.
Dover Stand Up to Racism
31 January at 18:51 ·
These are the words of the Bishop of Dover, Trevor Wilmott, that were read out in the Market Square yesterday.
" I'm sorry I cannot be with you this morning but welcome this opportunity of adding my voice to all those who not only believe in but seek to live the values of welcome and inclusion, which I believe are foundational to our common life. In a sense we are all immigrants in this world because the world does not belong to us. If we are to live peacefully with one another then we need to be inclusive and welcoming of all who seek to live amongst us. Exclusion only serves to create fear and ignorance. As a country, indeed as the people of Dover, we have always been enriched by the gifts and skills which others have brought to us. Now is the not the time to build, or dare I say allow others to build, walls of separation which in turn will only fragment our common life further.
As has been said "for evil to flourish it only needs people of good will to be silent". Our gathering together this morning, peacefully but firmly, is a clear sign that we will not remain silent when others are crying out for peace, justice and welcome."

Peacefully but firmly? Was that the slogan for knuckle dragging yob with the knuckle duster?

I always knew the clergy live in a different world to the rest of us, one reason they should keep quiet.
Not wanting large numbers of immigrants has nothing to do with racism it is to do with practicalities.
Maybe if we had not had to let all these people in from the EU (Poland, Romania etc) flood in we would not be so reticent about the needy refugees from Syria coming here.

3 questions.
1) Was "Trev" there or not someone is telling porkies?
2) Why did Peter W suddenly break ranks the day before and not been heard of since?
3) Why were Clair and Gordon not there or have an opinion on what happened?

Wonder why Peter deleted his last 2 posts both were rather innocuous.
