Keith
the sea thread is not on the "main page" it is not because we blame the english channel, it is a separate subject.

Once UKIP made their move to treat this forum as a plaything it has gone downwards ever since, they will be laughing at this latest move as will the members of Dover Locals.

disagree martin, chris and myself have had a lot of feedback on this and the colour of the politics is hardly mentioned, just the punch and judy nature of the politics.

That's a bit political martin ?
You need to post this in the political forum

Well martin, the voice of reason,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I will repeat other threads that I have contributed on this subject,,,
Many years ago the tories dominated the forum, until they were told they could no longer post
and dwindled away with a few hanging on.
I have never disagreed with UKIP move to dominate forum, even if I may disagree with the posts.
I hope the moderators can produce a list of subjects that they intend to treat in equal status
and which subjects may be under threat in order of disposal ?

They have disrupted and caused so much of the in fighting, that is how I see it as an outsider, somebody who actually knows no other members.

My view is live and let live
UKIP members havnt lways done themselves justice but they should be/have been challenged when the need arises
I think its a slippery slope

Ukip challenged the statuesque of the 3 party system ,so people get upset
If we agreed with all the rest, there wouldn't be a problem.

Believe me keith b there was much the same before UKIP came on the scene, and will be replaced in time
but concern is not that, but the slippery slope of banning a particular subject from the main page because a few don't like it
yet posted on it most days
as I say slippery slope
I look forward to the moderators list of what other subjects may/will be banned in order of preference

I prefer not to look at it as a ban but as the creation of a 'special' playground for the kids who just can't get on with each other - somewhere where they can call each other all the names they want. The special playground is ready, but for some reason the kids are not posting there - perhaps because they want the limelight and don't feel that they will get enough in their new play area.
Basically, if anyone wants a bit of tit-for-tat tribal political knock about, there is now a special area of the forum for it.

Neil
if you take that line(as the moderators have) there are many subjects that have very similar disagreements
yet have not been banned.
still waiting for the moderators banned preferances

No one is banning politics discussion Keith, just giving them a special playground as Neil says.

the decision was based on feedback from members that have left or stopped posting and also people who won't join because of the punch and judy nature of most of the political threads.

Tongue firmly planted in cheek Martin, you seem to have missed the humour.
