  I've often seen the William & Kate Johnston both in the Wellington Dock and in the tidal harbour, I think she is a pretty regular visitor.

  This is an olde thread from times past, I had to search through the archives to find it... down into the bowels of the dust-laden basement I went, torch in hand, where even the cobwebs have cobwebs of their own, and here we are. We used to put up odd items passing through the town on this thread...things that caught the eye. Mostly in my case automobiles of distinction.
  
  Caught this guy on the seafront just a few days ago. The sun was shining so it must have been thursday !
  
  Its an old Volkswagen. Looking at the rear it says Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Beautiful thing...it looks like it has been lovingly restored probably quite recently.   Just another car in its day.Hard to imagine that the dull everyday cars we use now will probably be future classics. I once owned a Fiat 850 coupe and a Saab 96,a couple of the first cars i owned back in the early 80s and both brought for scrap money.Both of those cars would make a small fortune now.

  You are right Andy..some of the most ordinary cars today will be classics, but which ones?
  
  Not this one below I shouldn't think.
  
  Its a...wait for it...a Benidorm Banger! yes on Wednesday evening somewhere between 30 or 40 bangers and jalopy's roared up to stay at the nearby hotel. They call themselves the Benidorm Bangers and bangers they were for sure...but all in a fancy state of dress or indeed undress if you look at the guy on the bonnet below.

  Probably not the ideal vehicle for a sophisticated night out...but great fun. At least all the guys driving the vehicles were having great fun.
