Yes you are right Jan..spot on...its not built for long distances. Do you see the trailer next to it..?
thats what it arrived on..and thats what it was towed off on this morning...the couple stayed in the hotel. The whole kit and caboodle was towed by a Land Rover.

Another shot of this Special ( see over ) but without people in it...you can see the full lines of it..
also powering through yesterday a whole gaggle of MGs..at first glance they might all look the same but there are slight differences. Now a defunct vehicle I gather...therefore collectible.
Loud candy colours stick out for sure. But...another British institution bites/has bitten the dust.

Yeah, the new breed of MG badged cars will be owned by the cunning Chinese...

Yes indeed the Chinese have bought the marque, but so far have done nothing with it despite owning it now for several years. Perhaps the golden era is over and they recognise that. MG conjures up images of Englishness which would be lost somehow if it had 'Made in Beijing' stuck on it.
I dont really know if they have any further plans or if something new is actually coming out.

Well I never..well there you are. Not a car buff myself and it shows...lol!!
But those cars are not the same...not in the spirit or tradition of the grand old days of British motoring. Cloth caps and tweeds and a picnic basket on the rear....

No, not at all. But they're already in very small showrooms here, and before long they'll be chasing our mainstream manufacturers

if they can get the quality right !

The above pictures bring back good memories, having not long sold mine which was MG number four the lovely blue colour you can see in the picture, the first being British Racing Green and then two were Black.
It was a must have when Rover bought them back into production first in the old shape then they upgraded with the new shape, now I have gone French with the peugeot equally as good and I love it but will always have fond memories of my MG's

These 'Hot Cars' shattered the peace down here on the seafront this morning but the sound was fantastic...growl growl roar....and when they accelerated they were earthshatteringlysuperduper..a sweet noise, enough to wake the dead!!
The pictures were taken soon after 6 am so it was quite dark..have had to force the pictures to get some image at all so the light looks funny in some cases. Photographing black cars in the dark is not ideal..here we go

I thought the wheels needed to be 'guarded' to be street-legal?

These two, of all the old/special/kit cars we have seen are the only ones with unguarded wheels. The US style.

They're not UK number plates so presumably they were driving back home where the rules are different - on exhausts as well as wheel guards!

At least the black one has solar-panels on it's roof.
