yes paulb
politics has a role to play as does all other posters even on this forum.
as you say we have seen how both local and national politics can make a difference, and even public opinion sway decision making.
so whilst some may like to pretend there not political(and some are not)
politics does affect your every day life.
what you do about that, is of course a decision you make yourself every day of the week

Cameron`s personally selected ``back to work tsar``has been investigated nine times since 2005.
Emma Harrison of A4e has had to pay back public funds five times.............
Emma Harrison is just one of several employees personally selected by Cameron to come a cropper......

Another of Camerons ill-conceived policies...work experience..modern day slavery..is `U`turned and another of his
chosen people bite the dust.Emma Harrison...back to work tsar..resigned as investigations gather pace
Last year she drew £ 8.4 million dividend dispite missing all targets.
This was Cameron`s ``Family Champion``
His choice of people and policies continues to add to his ``Error of Judgement list``.............

You seem very keen to keep the unemployable unemployed Reg - no u-turn at all either. The scheme is essentially the same despite the campaign by those crazed trots.

I was out and about a bit yesterday so didnt see too much detail on this...but as I understand it following a big scale meeting with businesses yesterday Grayling announced a change in the positioning on this. Basically its that young people on the scheme will not now lose benfits if they reject the position, even if they have started working in the position. This was the case previously but large retail groups did not like this big bully aspect....so it has been dropped.

it says rather a lot about the government that blame the outrage on "trotsykists".
i didn't realise there were any still left, they certainly would have no influence over the public who have made their feelings clear on the subject of forced labour.

Howard - it is a fact that a campaign has been orchestrated by the SWP - about the looniest trots around. Sadly some larger businesses have shown themselves to be a bit spineless, thankfully there are some like the boss of M&S who do have a bit of backbone and will do the right thing regardless of the nutters.

i think you are missing the point here berry, the swp could hold their agm in a phone box.
it is the public that are up in arms at this scheme.
those involved are working full on for over 30 hours per week, thus taking jobs away from people seeking paid employment.

No Howard - the public are not up in arms. It takes very few to create a seemingly big fuss with an internet campaign. Every statistic I see the public are in favour of this first class scheme. This helps turn the unemployable into someone employable, giving them a chance in life.

barry
there is no getting away from the fact that genuine jobseekers are losing out on the opportunity of a job while this scheme goes on.
