I think after reading the papers today, that the UKIP EMPs are the only ones standing up and talking for Britain why do the rest just sit there and take it all without fighting back.

Well Sid, I wonder what action you took? To be fair, you have written a couple of statements yourself that I thought were out of place, concerning Afghanistan!

But I do see that Johny Public has very little say in what the high people decree, they just do it, and when the dead and wounded come back, they tell us that we MUST put up bearing it! I tell them where they can get off! Certain comanders in the army would NEVER go to a war-zone, but they send other women's sons to be butchered off!

A disgrace! I never voted for the Afghanistan war, and as UKIP member I strongly advise people not to vote for any party preaching it!
Alexander, I have no idea what you are referring to and what I am supposed to take action for. Please enlighten me.
As for "Certain commanders", I think you must be referring to First World War types. There is no shortage of toop brass visiting Iraq or Afghanistan, and if you think they sit at home while TB, GB, DC et al visit the tropps then you are very much mistaken. But, it is rare from the Boer War onwards for Generals and Field Marshals to be "at the front line" as it were. That is because the nature of war and our view of it has changed over the centuries. So, where once it was hoped that the King would go on campaign and stuff the Frogs, again, that behaviour became too dangerous and so they were made to stay at home.
Nevertheless, we have many examples of our royal family seeing action as Prince's Andrew and Edward testify.
Finally, no nation "votes" for war. It would be a land of imbeciles where that practice happened. Sorry, I was forgetting Scotland!

As for certain comanders, Sid, I mean the grandchildren of Mrs. Windsor!

I also strongly disapprove of your nasty statements towards the French, Sid, and would ask you to stop these racist coments!
Alexander, I frequently holiday with the family in France, would seriously consider retiring there and have a number of French friends who call me Mr Roast Beef! So, if I choose to call them Frogs or Froggies or Frenchies I will do so, and I certainly won't take advice on this matter from one who is blatantly racist against East Europeans and Poles, thank you. It doesn't offend them, and they don't offend me, all harmless fun so where's the issue?
As for the grandchildren of Mrs Windsor, I think you will find one of them, and also a son, have both fought in a conflict and seen action. Check your facts next time please.

William and Andrew have indeed served their country in war zones placing their lives at risk. Andrew I remember flew his Sea King to act as a missile decoy to protect a carrier.
Alexander - the Generals will have had their wars and will have served as more junior officers in the front-line in Kosovo and Gulf 1 and 2. They have done their bit in that respect.
I may be wrong Sid , but I would guess that Alexander was only pulling your leg regarding the "Frogs" comment!
To err is human John

Alexander - what I have said is pretty much a matter of record so what are you saying is rubbish. Prince Andrew's action in the Falkelands is common knowledge as is Prince Harry's service in Afghanistan.
As for the generals, lets look at the present and previous two holder of the rank of Chief of the General Staff who have all had Afghanistan responsibilities:
Gen Sir David Richards (present holder of the position)
Operational service in Northern Ireland (3 tours), East Timor, Sierra Leon and Afghanistan itself.
Gen Sir Richard Dannant
Operational service in Northern Ireland for which he was awarded the MC, Bosnia and Kosovo
Gen Sir Mike Jackson
Operational Service in Northern Ireland (a witness to Bloody Sunday) and Kosovo - the latter being interesting because he is creditied for preventing WW3 starting after he refused to obey an order to block a Russian airfield.
These are all highly professional soldiers, a world away from the 'donkeys' who led the army in WW1. That is a point to remember - we have a professional Army with a high quality leadership. All three of the generals mentioned are/were highly respected by the troops on the ground because of their records. Dannant was particularly outspoken against the government in support of his troops.
Don't we have some Ukranian or Polish Generals? Surely they wouldn't have combat experience?
