In my chat with Paul Jaconelli on Monday he said that although my black bags wouldn't be collected they are obligated to collect the black bags that the eastern Europeans in the flats along London Road dump outside on the pavement as they constitute a hazard.
Not quite sure what to make of that.
Some time ago the LRCF had talks with Brin Hill at DDC about multi-lingual leaflets advising about rubbish but it came to nothing.

Brian - some things are not actually to do with politics.
Besides, when I think the Conservatives do something wrong I say so regardless (you can see that from my blog). The simple fact is that a Conservative council or government is far better and much more competent than any Labour one with Labour's excessive faith in spending our dosh and big government control.

was in folkestone the other day and in some roads most of the bins were overflowing. we are mostly saying that even with fortnightly collections ours would never be more than half full.
i can only think there are problems with collections as the problem seemed to be spread widely over the town.

What madness #81, that means there is one rule for Dover and another for the eastern Europeans

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

How about all the people who do not want their bins clubing together gettind a lorry or van, and taking them up to the council and placing them outside, and see how they like them

i think i have a better idea, these bins were placed on our property without our consent.
i will give d.d.c until close of play tomorrow to get back to me, failing that i will invoice them £.5 per week or part thereof for each bin until they are gone.
as a mark of good faith i will not chare for the food caddy.

Ok, first check back the post #81.
This is the scene this morning before the binmen came. Note the black bags and the computer monitor.
And now after the binmen have been.
For two consecutive collections they have walked past my black bags.
Let me pose this question to Cllr Nick Kenyon. Ignoring for the moment that they ARE collecting black bags.
What is the difference in chucking a black bag in the back of the lorry and a purple one?
And another thing, if I supply my own black bags I'm saving DDC money.
This intransigence on the part of DDC is baffling.

I have an email from Linda Pring at DDC that categorically states "Black bags will not be collected"
Perhaps a bit of joining up the thinking at DDC is in order.

all over the folkestone road area are black bags put out presumably because they are still expecting the thursday collection.
if they do get collected it will be on friday week.
these bags were strategically placed at the top of an alleyway a few days ago.

just seen the post from barry, the refuse collection operatives are at the sharp end of the wrath from locals due to decisions made by people from above that are safe from it.
Are black bags not supposed to be collected? Ours are. I didn't know any different. And we buy our own.

Yes Barry, but the various collectors may have different agendas.
What is the clear directive from those that hide behind their desks?
I am quite willing to call a public meeting and hire a hall at my expense to discuss this and invite those involved from DDC to explain.
I will only do it if Messrs Kenyon, Watkins and Nicholas agree to be involved, otherwise there is no point.

sounds a good idea terry, it is mr kenton not kenyon though.
not sure if susan would be allowed to participate in such a meeting, her role is less political, not a good word but i think you know what i mean.
