Well, some time has passed now but I have been beavering away on the Connaught Park project. I submitted some designs to Darran Solley and the good news is that we have secured plants from DDC for the five circles of flower beds on the lower level of the park just as you enter from the main entrance. As soon as the weather picks up and the time to start planting is upon us then it's all systems go! I have accumulated a small bank of volunteers but if anyone here would like to add their name to the list then please do email me on
barco1@btinternet.com. and as and when you can come along to help it will be greatly appreciated.
I went along to the recent meeting at Castle Forum and I have their full support. Just sorting out the necessary insurance with DTC at present and working towards some funding for painting and making good the benches in the same area as the flower circle beds.
Lots more talking and 'meeting up' to do in the coming weeks, will keep you posted of any further developments.
Connaught Park has been looking splendid in the last few days with all the snow we have had. Lots of children not to mention adults having lots of fun sledging in the snow. Thought you may like to see some pix, so here they are.
