I have a lot of respect for MAREK he's only repeating what mysef and john have been saying.
howard;
theres no attack as you call it on vic, just pointing out the facts, and confusion.
come may's election its clear from vic's posting in post 5 that people will not vote ukip therefore vic is standing as an indy in some seats(not my words, the words of vic)
that is telling people quite simply that ukiup does not have the support of the local population.
BARRYW
I appreciate your view and probably share some of them, never the less
there are conservatives on Deal town and parish councils and Dover did have a conservative on Dover town council as you know.
Like marek says those that have stood and still are labour/tory lib dem or ukip or whover, to then stand as an independent people dont just forget your conservative.

17:5394165This is ONLY an opinion after reading through this thread.
Vic my dear friend, I think you and politics are the same as me and the River Dour.
Aint going anywere, no one is interested. Stand back and enjoy the rest of your life.
I'm sure you can do much much more for the community without getting involved in politics and all that goes with it.
Ian.

18:1894169Well said Ian.
I have resisted posting on this thread but I know some of Vic's comments have upset people, not all of whom have replied here as they would like.
He's doing neither himself nor UKIP any favours and it needs those like you who know him well to say what you have, and it could probably bear repeating in private rather than on a public forum.

18:4894176i do find it hard to believe people are hurt by anything vic has said, very rarely is he less than polite, just goes into one now and again like most of us.
ian
we do care about the river, just the authorities that don't.

18:5494180I have a lot of time for Vic and have defended him more than a few times when the going has got rough for him, but his recent posts have been infuriatingly naive and I dread to think what it would be like if he really did end up with any proper power. His passion for Dover and commitment to social enterprises is clear and really commendable, but if he chooses to post and comment about political issues he will have to roll with the punches. He is unfailingly courteous and speaks his mind, and we love him for that, but if he wants to be taken seriously politically he will have to think harder.

19:1194185As you know I was a boxer for alot of years so I can roll with the punches, and I like that saying Bern.
Thank you all for your support but looking back over the posts in fact there are very few of you saying all that.So the way I see it, still all to play for.
Today I have been out with some of my family who I do not see alot of,and going round I have been stoped noless than four times by members of the public I know, and they have told me to keep going on and they are behind me over the sell of the port and hope to see me at the meeting nextweek, and yes I will be there puting over the case to keep the port as it is.Yes I am in UKIP and Yes I am the chairman of that party in Dover, but what keeps me going is the way I feel about the town I have been in all my life. That means alot more to me than any party. So I will carry on just the way I am.

19:1494187Re. Post 34: "I have already done this at the last Election I was in, only last year I went up as a Indendent because there was no need to add UKIP"'
Last year, I voted for UKIP at the General Election, and not for an independent candidate!
I know this, because I placed th pen on UKIP as a party in Belgrave Road!

19:2194190I do not know what he is on about .If there was a Gen/Election now again I would be standing for UKIP again. But the very last election I was in was for parish only,so I went as a Indendent. There is no Party in parish councils just the locals trying to do their best fot their parish.

19:4894210But it's not their only policy and many people don't realise that.
They have a full manifesto just like a proper party and have lost all history of their original single aim (get us out of Europe then disband) from their website. Nigel Farage changed that when he was leader the first time.
