18:5394027I will be standing for Labour, and not as an Indie, because I believe in my party and will not hide my light under a bushel.I am proud to stand for my Party, and I won't pretend to be anything else.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

19:2094035First none of you read my post right,it does say I WILL BE STANDING IN SOME SEATS FOR UKIP AND SOME AS A INDEPENDENT,this is done with UKIP support behind me,but even if I did not have that support I will still go head with what I am doing.
One of the post,s said about The UKIP Manifesto ,If that person goes into the UKIP pages he will find out that last year I wrote most of it out also that you can download the full manifesto by going into "Policies " section of
www.ukip.org. As you know at the By-election I was standing for 3 seats +one more 3weeks after that. I have acore of supporters who always vote for me,just wish there was more of them .I am trying to do the best I can for a town I was born in and the parish I live in now. And for a district I love. So I will stand in as many seats as I can within the law.And that is what I am doing.

20:0894046yes vic
you should remind yourself of post 5
you said people wouldn't vote for ukip
so you will stand in some seats as an indy
clearly that is saying people have no confidence in ukip
sounding also that you to are saying you cant convince people to vote ukip so you will stand as an indy.
people will again(more so than usual)be confused at your post 5
maybe a better bet would be vic to convince people to vote ukip not give up and go indy because people wont viote ukip

22:5894074seems like it is open season on vic, john and keith seem to enjoy ganging up on him.
the truth is that any election locally would be the preserve of the grey persons without his input.

06:1494087It is realy very simple.
You are only a Conservative party candidate if you are standing with the backing and selection by the Conservative Party.
Being a member of the Party does not stop anyone from exercising their democratic right to stand as a candidate in any election as an independent. That would only be a problem if the Conservative Party itself decided to contest that election and put forward a candidate.
Only candidates that have the backing of the Conservative Party have the right to descibe themselves as Conservative Party candidates.
Without that backing it is up to them what they call themselves, members or not, as long as they do not try to pass themselves off as Conservative Party candidates.
As I said it is quite simple really and I suspect that it is the same for UKIP but what damns Vic is his saying that he is doing so with UKIP support. Does he really mean that I wonder? Or does he mean that because UKIP members will be helping him because UKIP have decided not to stand as a Party? I suspect he has just confused the issue by a lack of clarity and a failure to properly explain and think through what he is doing. Not unusual.

No double standards at all. It is a matter that was determined by the local branches and is not imposed from above. You may be used to a centrally controlled Party but that is not how the Conservative actually operate.
I personally see no need for party politics at Town/parish level.

09:2794099I have already done this at the last Election I was in,only last year I went up as a Indendent because there was no need to add UKIP. Most of you would not have seen My last election leaflet because there was only 5000done,this was done by the UKIP after talking to me.
On that leaflet is wrote this.
At local level.we in UKIP are effectively independent and can therefore put forward your views instead of having them"Shot down" by the party machine,
So there you have it,it goes on to say"First you have to decide whether you want your Councillor to put fotward your views or party views. Then you must choose who that person should be.
Voting for Tory,Lib/dem or Labour is voting for party politics and not your views&interests
How many times do we see that with both Barrys and Keiths postings.
How many times hae you heard me say in the locals vote for the person not the party they are in.
I am standing as Vic Matcham if you think what i am doing and trying to do in and around Dover is right or good then vote for me if not then vote for one of the others.
It is me you are voting for not a party but a person.

09:5594100Confusion rules .Surely unless I have a lapse of memory .At the By Election for DDC and KCC seats Vic stood for UIKP .It was clear on the ballot papers .Matcham UKIP .I dont know about the DTC seat as i did not watch those papers
If Vic intends to stand now as independant a UKIP member could apose him .Must cause confusion if you are said chairman of UKIP locally .
I went to a dinner party /supper party last night Vics name never came up once .It was people interested in moving Dover forward ..

09:5694101Understand what you are saying Vic but if you have spent considerable money recently on your leaflets for example, selling yourself to the public as the UKIP man, then asking them now, to forget all they have just been told very recently ..well it is a difficult ask.
If a guy is Conservative.. and he stands as an Independant..well we still know he is a Conservative underneath dont we. isnt that the case?
I saw the leaflets so the message did get out. UKIP are a political party not a party of independents...at least thats how they are seen.

10:0794103Our Standin chairman said she went to a dinner last nigt( Was it Free) anyway she goes on to say my name never came up,WHY SHOULD IT ,I go out for meals and I do not talk about our standin Chairman at the District, And also she is not up todate on the last by- election I was in. and it was in her own ward.
A by-election was called at River in Nov/2010 I went for the seat as a Independent, no other person went for it so I got the seat. iT MUST BE THE AGE THING.

10:1094105It is true that the age thing can bring on some confusion in some..............

10:1794106Thank you Bern.
I would just like to add to this.
I would still like to see the blues win at District in May,but the good news is that if they do not we will not see the now standin Chairman ,as Chairman after May.,As you know the Chairman of the District at this time is amember of my family and is doing agood job but he must stand down in May.
