Hi Howard
That did make me laugh! - I wasn't suggesting the band for her - just a good one to have a dance to - after reading her 342 post suggested...oh my!

11:1968102No John, I haven't any other piercings or even any tattoos. I happen to enjoy wearing jewellery, had my ear pierced years ago while at school (much to parental disgust) and have worn one ever since.
User Friendly are very good, as are many of the local bands I wish all the bands were given more opportunities to play their own stuff and not have to play covers all the time. I did enjoy seeing The Alleviators at the Louis the other week, highly competent AND they played quite a lot of their own songs which, in my opinion, were better than their covers.

12:0668106Anne, there are plans nearing completion for our first shop and you'll most certainly be welcome to come and eye me up if that's your wish.
Otherwise... you have an idea what I look like, I'm frequently around town so please don't be afraid of introducing yourself. I don't bite (have been known to nibble though).

interesting to read that you are opening a shop.
i have read through your catalogue/website and was intrigued by the varied range, i thought that the current drop in spending would have affected your business in a negative way.
your products are very much "would like to have" rather than the basic things that people are spending their money on at this time.
what do you put your success down to, is it advertising, word of mouth?

I've publicly announced that news a little earlier than intended.
Going to be increasing the product range actually, so then there'll be even more things. There's one rule I have, if it doesn't do what it says on the tin, or the design is not to my liking then it won't be sold. I believe being able to stand by and believe in what you sell helps.
Launching new products and being exclusive stockist for others doesn't do any harm. There's certainly been products not as successful as others but, hey-ho, that's the fun.
IWOOT have just joined zavvi.com and their tag has always been "stuff you don't need but really really want" - so there's obviously a market for their product range.
The advertising is successful but I do believe in the power of spreading the word, I know a lot of customers are happy to pass recommendation for the products and service they receive.

13:3768114I haven't been to the zoo for a long time, no need to, really! What I mean is, there are plenty of animal documents on TV, but I don't have time to watch TV.
But, I do write, Anne, and if you Yahoo Bagpipes British Isles, the first text to come up is from me, posted it the other day.
I thought, may-be Howard, Phil Tony and me could have a cider out and meet you, jsut to say hello. I haven't got any intention of marrying right now anyway, but for a group of forumites to get to meet up for a drink wouldn't harm either!

15:3468130Anne, you asked if I go to the zoo, and I explained that I don't have time for it, or for TV! I'm busy interesting myself in people, and on this Forum have made good proposals for Britain's future trade world-wide, such as an acadamy of research for irrigaton and ground fertilisation for the world's growing population. As for bagppes, I love them, not hard to understand! Northumbrian and Highland bagpipes I know well, and am looking for Irish bagpipes too.
Still, a glass of cider I can find at home no problem, and enjoy it with fantastic Highland pipes of Britannia's Massed Regiments!

15:4468133My Nephew was playing at the Edinburgh Tattoo bagpipe section, not bad as he only learnt this year.Unfortunately my Mum and Stepfather were going to watch him but she had to go in to hospital the day they were due to go! We had bagpipes at our wedding,as my Mrs is half Scottish half Alien!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
