We all recognise the modern police force prefers to sit in a car or on a bike, and that has created the need for PCSO's. but it doesn't make it right.
None of the posters here have any issue with what Keith does or how he does it. As far as we are concerned he does a grand job and none of our comments are aimed at him personally in anyway whatsoever.
But I do repeat, the cuts, when they come, will be admin and PCSO staff firstly, and let us just hope that might mean some of the bobbies will then get off their @rses and walk about a bit for a change. - 6 September 2010 05:2368948I would really like people to stop seeing this as anti-Keith. It so isn't. I echo what Sid says in the above post, and his previous post: we have made informed decisions, and we disagree. that is cool. That is what grown ups do. We have said repeatedly how much we appreciate what PCSOs do but still believe PCs to be more appropriate. Just because something is as it is now doesn't mean it is right, or will remain so, and our Lords and Masters (with apologies to BarryW-S) who make the rules often change their minds, bend the truth, or simply get it wrong. This is one of those times.
Keith - cheer up mate - it's been a great conversation and isn't in the slightest a criticism of you personally.
